Chelsea is interested in signing the left winger who dazzled Mexico by leading the national team to the round of 16, where they ultimately fell to England. That player is the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot winner, Julian Quinones.

Chelsea has recently signed right-winger Geovany Quenda for a fee close to £44 million, who had a very good season with Sporting CP. The young Portuguese will arrive to challenge for the right-winger position with Estevao, who remains in recovery after an injury sustained last April. However, the left flank still leaves many doubts regarding the attack.

That is why, according to Asharq Al-Awsat, the west London club would be interested and would have already made an offer for the Mexican winger, Julian Quinones. The mentioned says: "Asharq Al-Awsat has learned from informed sources that English club Chelsea has submitted an offer to sign Julian Quinones, forward for Qadsia Club and the Mexico national team, following the remarkable performance he delivered during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers."

Julian had an excellent World Cup, scoring four goals and giving one assist, leading the Mexican team to the round of 16, where they unfortunately fell 2-3 to England. The forward had an excellent performance, scoring one of the goals for the Aztec squad.

He also won the Golden Boot in the Saudi Pro League by scoring 33 goals in 31 matches with Al-Qadsiah, surpassing players of the stature of Cristiano Ronaldo (who scored 27 goals). In addition, he is a versatile player, as he can play as a left winger -- his natural position -- and also function as a center forward and attacking midfielder. This makes him an attractive option, since he can be used as the coach needs in each match.

This interest would arise from the great doubt on the Stamford Bridge board about the left flank, because Alejandro Garnacho will leave the club this summer; that seems already assured, and one of the clubs that most want to have him in their ranks is Roma. It wants to give him an opportunity to "be reborn" football-wise in Serie A, since it is a league with fewer spotlights than the Premier League.

On the other hand, there is Jamie Gittens, who missed the second half of the 2025/26 season entirely due to a hamstring injury. He has been cleared to join the team's preseason under the new coach, Xabi Alonso. Whom he must convince during these weeks that he is still worthy of being at the club and, why not, of returning to the starting lineup, something that has not happened for many months.
