Chelsea, under Liam Rosenior, will bring in another player from sister club Strasbourg next season, a young midfielder who has shone in Ligue 1.

The agreement is total. After his performance with the Argentina national team in the last FIFA international window, and his great season at Racing Strasbourg at a top level, Liam Rosenior will take one of his favorite players to Chelsea, as it is confirmed that Valentin Barco will play for the London club starting in the 2026/27 season.

Since the clubs belong to the same business group, BlueCo, the Colo's move to Chelsea is much simpler than other types of transfers. Journalist Augusto Cesar, on Friday morning, confirmed the agreement between all parties for the player who emerged from Boca Predio to move from Alsace to London in the next transfer window.

The new development lies in the contract that Barco will sign with Chelsea once he arrives on English soil. Considering that his arrival will be in July, in the middle of the World Cup (or after his participation, if Lionel Scaloni ultimately calls him up), the Argentine will sign his bond with the blue entity for five seasons, until June 2031. Yes, even until after the World Cup that will take place after this edition, which begins in 69 days.

With his transfer completed, Chelsea will have three Argentines on the roster: Alejandro Garnacho, Enzo Fernandez, and Valentin Barco. Although Enzo's future is uncertain, and he is currently sanctioned by the club due to his statements about living in Madrid, at the start of next season, all three Argentines will be on Liam Rosenior's team.

It is worth noting that Rosenior was Barco's coach at Strasbourg and was the one who decided to take him off the left wing to position him as a central midfielder. At Chelsea, the intention is for him to take that role in midfield, with players like Enzo, Moises Caicedo, and Cole Palmer, among other top players.

Valentin Barco was very pleased with the level he was able to show on the Argentina national team against Zambia and excited about the possibility of making the list to play in the World Cup. "I live day to day, as always. I try to do my best at the club, which is what brings you here. This is the best national team in the world, so it is the most difficult list in the world," he said.
