With Garnacho's potential departure from Chelsea on the horizon, a familiar suitor has emerged for the player, opening talks with the west London board in an attempt to reach an agreement.

Chelsea's signing of Garnacho was initially seen as a much-needed fresh start after his highly publicized falling-out with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. However, the winger's honeymoon in west London has definitely come to an end. The Argentine international has failed to establish himself in the starting lineup during a turbulent season.

Statistically, the 21-year-old player has not lived up to expectations. Although he has totaled eight goals and four assists in 37 matches across all competitions with Chelsea, most of that production came in domestic cup matches. A meager return of just one goal in 20 Premier League matches has raised serious doubts about his long-term suitability for a club with big ambitions.

In light of his continued struggles at Stamford Bridge, an unexpected suitor has emerged. According to reports coming from South America, River Plate coach Eduardo Coudet has directly contacted Garnacho to discuss a possible signing. The news, released by TyC Sports journalist Gonzalo Carol, suggests that the Argentine giant is testing the waters to see if a deal for the 21-year-old forward is possible.

The report indicates that Chelsea would look favorably on a one-year loan agreement, which would allow the player to regain confidence away from the intense scrutiny of the top tier of English football.

Although River Plate's interest is gaining strength in Argentina, several major obstacles remain. From a financial standpoint, the winger's salary would be a big hurdle for any South American team, and there is also the delicate issue of the player's own sporting preferences.

Garnacho has publicly stated that his family has always supported Boca Juniors, River Plate's fierce rival. Furthermore, from a sporting perspective, a signing for the Argentine First Division might not be the springboard Garnacho needs to return to Lionel Scaloni's Argentina national team.

According to reports, Chelsea's board is beginning to view Garnacho through the lens of their overall transfer strategy, which prioritizes high resale value and constant squad evolution. Chelsea is already willing to cash in on the 21-year-old player and is open to authorizing his departure.

By making it clear they will listen to offers, the club believes it can still recoup a significant portion of the £40 million it paid to Manchester United last summer. As the board looks to balance the books, Garnacho finds himself at a crossroads in his career.

It remains to be seen whether his next step will be a return to Argentina or facing a new challenge in Europe, but the revolving door policy at Stamford Bridge makes his future in the blue shirt increasingly uncertain.
