Crystal Palace played out a 0-0 draw with West Ham on Monday night that put a major dent in their charge for European football. But who caught the eye and who was disappointing?
Crystal Palace could not maintain their momentum in the Premier League, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by West Ham.
The Eagles, who showed a clear hangover from Thursday night’s aggregate triumph over Fiorentina, failed to create the chances required to break down a West Ham side who appear rejuventated in their fight to stay in the Premier League.
Ismaila Sarr did put the ball in the back of the net, but the goal was correctly disallowed after Jean-Philippe Mateta handballed in the build-up.
But, with the game finishing goalless and the European charge up the Premier League taking a dent, who performed and who had a game to forget?
Dean Henderson - 8
A 12th clean sheet of the season for Henderson and he made an incredible save from a header from Konstantinos Mavropanos late in the first half.
Jaydee Canvot - 7
Another solid performance from the young French centre back.
Four tackles, a foul one and passing accuracy in the 90s, as well as a clean sheet is a good evening’s work.
Maxence Lacroix - 7
A big win for Palace was having the French international in the team after his knock on Thursday.
Was solid if not unremarkable as his side claimed another clean sheet and made further progress.
Chris Richards - 6
A few more wayward passes than Palace fans have been accustomed to but a solid performance from the American.
Tyrick Mitchell - 7
Played in a wonderful ball which Brennan Johnson should have done better with in the first half and was perhaps a little unlucky to drag his shot wide.
Defensively, made 100% of his tackles.
Jefferson Lerma - 7
The man with the only shot on target with Palace and he won three fouls too.
Passing was wayward and he missed two further chances however.
Will Hughes - 6
A fine but not hugely special performance from Hughes, who was replaced after 59 minutes.
Daniel Munoz - 7
Probably Munoz’s worst game in a long time, not that that is saying much, such is the level he is now at.
Made all his tackles but was sloppy with three fouls committed and was also booked for dissent.
Yeremy Pino - 6
Always looks dangerous but was unable to get stuck into this game as much as he would have liked and was replaced before the hour mark.
Brennan Johnson - 5
The Welsh winger has struggled so far for Palace, and his confidence has, as a result, taken a big hit.
His headed chances in the first half had to go on target, while his effort a few minutes later was better but still was not directed goalwards.
Jorgen Strand Larsen - 5
Really struggled to get into the game and was poor at retaining possession generally.
Not entirely his fault but he was part of a Palace attack that were not firing.
Substitutes:
Daichi Kamada - 7
Came on and was faultless, creating two chances and had a passing accuracy of 100%.
Jean-Philippe Mateta - 6
Marginally better than Strand Larsen but still unable to really get stuck in, his handball saw the goal disallowed.
Ismaila Sarr - 6
Gave his all and did well to put the ball in the back of the net but was disallowed, ultimately unable to quite make things happen.
Justin Devenny - NA
Only came on for 12 minutes.
