Crystal Palace are back in Premier League action after another successful week in Europe. Palace secured their spot in the Conference League final with a win over Shakhtar Donetsk and now return to domestic action.

Tom Masters previews Crystal Palace's Premier League clash with Everton.

Crystal Palace are back at Selhurst Park on Sunday, just three days after celebrating booking their spot in the Conference League final.

The Eagles welcome Everton to south London in what is sure to be a celebratory atmosphere in the sun.

Palace fans are still on cloud nine after the club found their way into their first ever European final with a 5-2 aggregate win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Conference League semi-final.

Now though, it is back to domestic action, with Oliver Glasner insisting that Palace are not completely safe from the relegation battle despite being on 43 points.

So then, how are Everton faring and what team can we expect?

Form Guide

Palace are coming off the back of a second consecutive European win but in the Premier League they have not won since the 2-1 triumph over Newcastle on April 12.

Since then, a 0-0 draw against West Ham and defeats to Liverpool and Bournemouth have seen them plummet down the table.

Palace now sit 15th, seven points clear of 18th-placed West Ham with three games to go.

From an Everton perspective, the Toffees were on their own European charge not so long ago, but a blip in form has seen that somewhat fade.

David Moyes’ side remain 10th in the league after conceding match-altering goals in three consecutive matches.

The Toffees drew 3-3 with Manchester City on Monday night, after initially holding a 3-1 lead, and they also conceded goals beyond 90 minutes to lose 2-1 against both West Ham and Liverpool.

A win for them would lift them up to ninth in the table and leave them right in contention to make the European places for next season.

Previous Meetings

The two sides have met on 65 occasions throughout the years, with the first five encounters all being in the FA Cup.

Everton have held the ascendancy in the fixture, winning on 29 occasions, with Palace winning 15 times.

In recent times, Everton have dominated matches between these two teams, winning the last three matches, with Palace not winning a match in the Premier League against Everton since December 2021.

Team News

Oliver Glasner confirmed that there were no new injuries for Crystal Palace, despite minor concerns regarding Tyrick Mitchell during the match with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Borna Sosa is still unlikely to be involved, while Eddie Nketiah and Cheick Doucoure are long-term absentees.

Evann Guessand could be back involved after making his first steps back into training.

Predicted XI

Crystal Palace: (3-4-2-1): Henderson (c); Canvot, Lacroix, Richards; Devenny, Lerma, Hughes, Munoz; Pino, Strand Larsen, Johnson

Odds

Bet365 are suggesting it will be a tight encounter, with Palace given odds of 19/10, while Everton come in at 5/4, and a draw is 21/10.

What did Oliver Glasner say?

“I always try to learn myself. After the away win in Shakhtar, we trained there, we stayed there. We trained on Friday, we trained on Saturday, we went to Bournemouth, and we were not ready for the game.

“I told the players that they can also learn quickly, that means they're off tomorrow [Friday], because I think nobody will sleep if you're full of adrenaline. It just makes no sense calling them in in the morning.

“They should recover, and then we will meet on Saturday, preparing for Everton. And then hopefully we will show a better side than we did against Bournemouth.

“I told the players I expect now… because after the FA Cup win on a Saturday, they had Sunday off, we played on Tuesday, Wolves at home, and we won 4-2. So I said, ‘OK, you're off tomorrow, but I expect the same performance as against Wolves last year!”
