Turkish giants Fenerbahce are hoping to add Daniel Munoz to their squad this summer, according to media in the country.
Munoz has become one of Crystal Palace’s most important players since his move from Genk two seasons ago.
In Oliver Glasner’s 3-4-2-1 formation, Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell were arguably the two players to make it work, with their ability to work back and forwards as effectively as each other.
With Glasner leaving but being replaced by Pierre Sage, who is expected to maintain the same formation having done so at both Lyon at times and Lens to great success last season.
That would make Munoz again one of the most essential players in the current squad.
But, after thriving for two seasons in the Premier League for the Eagles, Munoz was already on the radar of several clubs around Europe.
And that interest has not reduced, with the 29-year-old thriving for Colombia at the World Cup.
Munoz scored in both of Colombia’s wins this tournament, a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan and a 1-0 win over the Democratic Republic of Congo while he came on as a late substitute in the 0-0 draw with Portugal.
His ability to make late, deep runs is better than most wingers in world football and any long term viewers of Crystal Palace know just how good he is at getting forward and making a nuisance of himself.
And that has seen him attract attention from Turkey, in the form of Fenerbahce, according to Samet Cayir of Fanatik.
He reports that Palace are open to offers for Munoz and that expectations for a transfer are as low as €10-15 million.
Cayir took to X to say: “Fenerbahçe has added Colombian right-back Daniel Muñoz, who plays for Crystal Palace, to its agenda.
“Palace is open to offers for Muñoz. Transfer fee expectations are between 10-15 million Euros.”
It would seemingly be a major blow for Crystal Palace to lose Munoz, who thrived so much at right wing back for the Eagles.
The Colombian joined from Genk in 2024 and has played 108 times in all competitions.
He’s scored 11 goals and assisted 16, including Eberechi Eze’s winning goal in the FA Cup final.
In his time at Palace, Munoz played a monumental role in the historic and most successful part of Eagles’ history, as the club won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League.
