Crystal Palace dug in when it mattered and found themselves into the last eight of the Conference League. Find out who performed and who struggled with our player ratings.

Tom Masters gives his analysis on Crystal Palace's win over AEK Larnaca.

Crystal Palace advanced to the quarter-finals of the Conference League with a 2-1 win over AEK Larnaca in Cyprus.

The Eagles got the job done with a mature and professional performance, even if they were unable to find a way to win comfortably despite their heavy possession and having 29 shots.

Eventually, though, Palace found a way to win, and that is all that matters, as they found their way into the last eight.

Without further ado, here are the player ratings for all players who were involved in Cyprus.

Walter Benitez - 6

Was a quiet night for the goalkeeper, again standing in for the ill Dean Henderson.

He could do nothing about the goal and had little else to do on a night when Palace had all the ball.

Jaydee Canvot - 6

Again, a quiet night for the young Frenchman.

Not involved in the goal conceded and did not seem to put a foot wrong, completed 89.7% of his 68 passes.

Maxence Lacroix - 7

Another night where Lacroix showed his leadership, playing the full 120 minutes.

He did concede four fouls but was hugely influential in the build up play and came close to scoring himself.

Chris Richards - 6

Was outjumped for the Larnaca goal from a corner but was an otherwise generally fairly positive display from the American.

Tyrick Mitchell - 7

As usual, he was busy and made a real difference at both ends of the pitch.

How he kept going for 120 minutes is astonishing, must be one of the fittest players in the Palace squad and was unlucky nobody got on the end of some of his balls.

Daichi Kamada - 8

Was everywhere.

Five chances created led to one assist and he was unlucky it was not more in all honesty, the Japanese midfielder put in a standout display.

Adam Wharton - 7

Uncharacteristically a bit sloppy at times, with just 76% pass completion, but he is without a doubt a huge player for Palace, both in defence and attack.

Essentially got the assist for Sarr’s first goal with a lovely ball through the heart of the defence.

Brennan Johnson - 5

He was energetic, which is all you can really ask of a player being asked to play somewhere they have never really played before.

The Welshman was replaced by Daniel Munoz after 60 minutes and there was a notable difference in Palace’s build-up play from then on.

Evan Guessand - 6

At times struggled to get into the game as much as others, but has made a positive impact at Palace since joining.

Attitude cannot be faulted, as shown by his three tackles.

Ismaila Sarr - 9

Scoring both goals in a 2-1 win should automatically make you player of the match but Sarr could have and should have put the game to bed much earlier.

Was offside in the first half following his header and then missed another big chance with another header.

Should have put the game to bed with the last kick of the game but hit the post with an open goal in front of him.

Jorgen Strand Larsen - 7

Played the full 120 minutes and was unlucky not to get the third goal in extra time with a good header striking the post.

Has solid hold-up play and seemed to strike a decent parternship with Jean-Phillipe Mateta when he came on.

Replacements:

Daniel Munoz - 7

He’s just such an important player in this system.

Makes the team tick from right back created five chances in only an hour - Palace simply are a much better team with the Colombian on the pitch.

Yeremy Pino - 6

Made an impact when he came on and was more creative than Guessand but similar to the player he replaced, could not quite be as effective as he can be.

Jefferson Lerma - 6

Just solid when he came on.

A great player to be able to bring on and calm things down but did not do anything particularly eye catching.

Jean-Phillipe Mateta - 6

Was certainly not as influential as Strand Larsen was, but he certainly made things harder for Larnaca with two big men to target.

Will Hughes - NA

Came on for just one minute.
