Now a month into the season, Crystal Palace's new summer signings have had time to settle in, with some making an immediate impact on the pitch. The summer was a big window for the club with eight players joining on permanent deals and two on loan deals.

Two players have made an immediate impact within Pierre Sage's new system, and have become regular starters for the Eagles across all competitions. Quinten Timber and Anan Khalaili have impressed Palace fans in their first month at the club, standing out as the most impactful summer signings so far.

The Perfect Munoz Replacement

Palace fans were sad to see Daniel Munoz depart for Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, with Munoz being a unique player who was a crucial and integral part of Palace's trophy winning seasons.

A player who passionately played for the badge, and made constant runs down the right wing, Munoz was a fan favourite and in Oliver Glasner's first full season in charge he often appeared to be giving the most effort out of anyone on the pitch.

Since his exit Khalaili has come straight into the starting line-up as a replacement for the right wing back role. His early goal at Selhurst Park against Ipswich was a brilliant goal from the edge of the box which curled into the bottom left corner.

Despite not getting on the score sheet against Fulham he created the highest amount of expected goals by any Palace player with 0.72 xG, proving he has the attacking threat on the wing that made Palace value Munoz so highly in that role.

There is certainly more room for Khalalili to grow at Palace and his signing was such a promising move for Palace to bring in a youngster with strong potential and a better re-selling value than Munoz.

Strengthening the Midfield

Arguably the other biggest and strongest signing from Palace's summer window who has proved himself so far is Quinten Timber. While it took him a few games to get a settled start in the line-up and to find his feet, he has really impressed Palace fans across the last two games.

From the stalemate away at Elland Road Timber was named the Palace player of the match by the fans, after being praised online for his brilliant effort in the match. Since settling into the midfield he has been working well with Wharton, and was strong in the Leeds match working on moving between the lines rather than facing Leeds players in M2M marking.

Timber has also impressed for his hunger for the ball and how strong he is on moving the ball forward on the counter attack. After Palace's narrow and disheartening defeat to Ipswich many fans praised Timber again, saying he did not deserve to be on the losing side.

He holds a lot of potential to grow into Sage's system, especially when the squad is more settled as the season progresses. Timber's addition also allows Kamada to shift his position towards being more attacking which could bring more chances and goals created.
