Crystal Palace are reportedly among the Premier League clubs to have made a significant offer for Paris FC centre-back Moustapha Mbow.
According to RMC Sport, Palace are one of three Premier League clubs to have made a significant offer to the 26-year-old centre-back’s representatives, alongside Fulham and West Ham United. Liverpool are also said to have made an enquiry, while Ipswich Town, Lille and clubs in Germany are monitoring the situation.
Mbow has been an important figure for Paris FC, who are looking to keep him as part of their project after an impressive season in Ligue 1. The defender is under contract until 2028 and is understood to be settled in Paris, where he is happy with both the club’s direction and his life in the French capital.
That means any deal is unlikely to be straightforward. Paris FC are not under immediate contract pressure, while the number of clubs credited with interest suggests there could be competition if Mbow decides to explore a move this summer.
From a Crystal Palace perspective, the link is understandable. The Eagles lost Marc Guehi to Manchester City in the January window, removing not only a key centre-back but also their captain. That has left Palace with an obvious reason to assess defensive reinforcements ahead of the summer, particularly if their European campaign leads to a similarly busy schedule next season.
Mbow’s leadership profile is also relevant. He has made 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season and played more league minutes than any other Paris FC player, underlining both his durability and importance to the side. Having recently been promoted to captain, he would fit a Palace squad that may still be looking to replace some of the leadership lost when Guehi departed.
His profile would also align with several areas Palace is likely to consider in the market. He is in his mid-20s, experienced as a regular starter, physically mature, and still at an age when further development may be ahead.
The reported Premier League interest reflects the wider market for defenders with top-flight experience outside England. Clubs such as Palace, Fulham and West Ham are all expected to look carefully at centre-back options this summer, while Liverpool’s reported enquiry adds another layer of competition.
For Palace, there is no suggestion at this stage that a transfer is close. The current information points to interest and an offer to the player’s camp rather than an agreement with Paris FC.
Still, the link is one to watch as the summer approaches. Palace have a clear need to assess their defensive depth, and Mbow’s durability, leadership and regular football in Ligue 1 make him a profile that would logically attract Premier League attention.
