From testing free agent fitness to navigating collapsed deals and multi-million pound pursuits, discover which targets are currently topping the Eagles' summer shortlist.
As the transfer window continues to progress, Crystal Palace remain hot in pursuit of reinforcements to strengthen Pierre Sage’s side.
Many names have been linked since our last transfer specific roundup, and so here we go again, bringing you all of the latest news, links and rumours, all with our very own ‘rumour rating’ attached so you can know whether or not to get excited.
Takehiro Tomiyasu - Free Agent
The former Arsenal defender has been on trial with the club during the Como Cup, and made his ‘debut’ for Palace in their 3-1 victory over Saudi Arabian side Al Ula in the fifth place play-off on Friday evening.
The understanding is that Palace views Tomiyasu as a strong option, and personal terms would not be an issue at all. What could prevent Palace from committing to the player is his fitness. Tomiyasu has played just 227 minutes in the last two years, suffering with huge injury issues which have kept him sidelined.
When he is fit however, he’s a good player, and would be a strong option for Palace, especially in terms of boosting the experience in the squad. This is less so a rumour and very much a case of assessing the player's fitness before making a call, but this is one we can see happening.
Rumour Rating - 9/10
Central defenders - Incomings
Palace’s search for a centre half who can come in and provide instant starting quality continues, and because of the sheer volume of names being linked, it makes sense to keep them all together, here’s all the latest on the linked names.
Chrislain Matsima - FC Augsburg - Deal off
The deal for Matsima looked to be nearing a conclusion, until Augsburg upped their asking price and forced Palace to withdraw. Personal terms were reported to be completed long before discussions between the clubs took place, but Palace viewed the prices Augsburg demanded as excessive, leading them to end talks.

Raphaël Le Guen - Stade Brestois - Permanent
Reports circulated last week that Le Guen had completed a medical during a visit to Palace’s training ground, and whilst other sources denied these claims, there is no smoke without fire.
Alan Nixon has reported that Palace are renewing talks for the 19-year-old, in a deal that will be worth up to £12 million.
Rumour Rating - 8/10
Odilon Kossounou - Atalanta - Permanent
Palace have been fans of Kossounou’s for a long time, even back to 2023 and his Bayer Leverkusen days. Atalanta are looking to bring in West Ham’s Jean-Clair Todibo, which could facilitate a departure for Kossounou. He’d be a quality replacement for Lacroix, and wouldn’t be too expensive either.
Rumour Rating - 6/10
Josh Acheampong - Chelsea - Permanent
Widely reported as one of Chelsea’s ‘untouchable’ assets, Acheampong simply needs more game time. The arrival of Lacroix from Palace makes that evermore unlikely, but even so it feels as if a move for the 20-year-old is as unlikely as it would be remarkable business. A no-brainer if it were possible, but it’s highly unlikely.
Rumour Rating - 2/10
Axel Disasi - Chelsea - Loan
This one has legs. Alan Nixon has reported that Palace want Disasi on a season-long loan deal to sure up their defensive options. Whilst he’s had a difficult few seasons, he actually played well for West Ham last season and was a key figure in their turn in form, despite their relegation.
Rumour Rating - 8/10
Jayden Oosterwolde - Fenerbaçhe - Permanent
Another name linked with Palace over the last year or two, Fener’s Oosterwolde could be another option to replace Lacroix. Ajansfenercom reported that Palace are ready to bid for the Dutch 25-year-old, but aside from that individual report there is little smoke.
Rumour Rating - 4/10
Nathan Zeze - Neom SC - Permanent
Sam Tabuteau has reported that Palace are interested in Zeze as another alternative to replace Lacroix. Zeze was an original target of former SD Dougie Freedman back during his time at Nantes, and based on Dougie’s track record, that means he’s probably excellent. At 21 he’d make a good option both in terms of starting quality and also potential sell on.
Rumour Rating - 5/10
Charlie Cresswell - Toulouse - Permanent
The final name being linked with the vacant position in Palace’s back three, and whilst it seemed earlier in the Summer interest had cooled, Palace are reportedly battling it out with Fulham over Cresswell’s signature, per Pete O’Rourke.
Rumour Rating - 4/10
Departures - Potential and Confirmed
Maxence Lacroix - Chelsea - Confirmed (£52 million)
Lacroix’s arrival at Chelsea was announced on Thursday, as the Frenchman departs Selhurst after two seasons wielding great success. Palace almost quadrupled their initial outlay on Lacroix, who joins up with Xabi Alonso’s side.
Danny Imray - Wrexham - Confirmed (£5 million)
The 23-year-old wingback has left Palace permanently and joined Wrexham, who are pushing for promotion from the Championship this season. Signed from Chelmsford, Imray enjoyed a series of successful loan spells which have earnt him this move, and a chance for Palace to cash in on a player who is not quite good enough for the Premier League.
David Ozoh - Derby County
After two consecutive loan spells in the Midlands, Derby County are reviving their interest in Ozoh, this time with a view to sign the midfielder permanently for around £5 million. This one comes from Alan Nixon, and makes sense, especially if Palace don’t see him in their plans for the coming seasons. He’s still just 21, but with one year left on his deal, it feels like this Summer is make or break for Ozoh’s Palace career.
Rumour Rating - 7/10
Rio Cardines - Bristol City
A potential loan move here, and what would be the first loan move in Rio Cardines career. The Trinidad and Tobago international has had a really strong pre-season, and registered two assists in Palace’s 3-1 win over Al Ula.
Consistent minutes would be excellent for his development, especially for a side like Bristol City who have the ability to push for the play-offs, but equally if Daniel Muñoz’s future changes, Cardines may be needed for the first team squad.
Rumour Rating - 7/10
Romain Esse - Preston North End
Another one from Nixon, and this one shares PNE’s interest in signing Romain Esse on loan for the season. He failed to impress during pre-season, and after a slightly underwhelming loan move to Coventry, despite their promotion. Another loan move feels like the right choice for his career.
Rumour Rating - 7.5/10
Mylo Bernard - Arsenal
Academy striker Mylo Bernard has been snatched by Arsenal. The 16-year-old opted against committing his future to Palace in favour of a move to Hale End, via @TheSecretScout.
Daniel Muñoz
Rumours have emerged suggesting that Daniel Muñoz could be tempted by a move away from Selhurst Park this Summer. He’s attracting interest from Saudi Arabia but Palace have no plans to sell, via Ryan Taylor. Chelsea have also been linked.
Rumour Rating - 3/10
Adam Wharton - Chelsea
Surface level links as of yet, but some murmurings are suggesting that Chelsea are prepared to enter talks to sign Adam Wharton, with Xabi Alonso a big fan of Palace’s midfielder. Palace would demand a fee in the region of £100 million to sell, it’s unlikely.
Rumour Rating - 2/10
Chadi Riad & Ismaïla Sarr
Riad’s entourage have reportedly hinted at a potential return to LaLiga whilst Manchester United and Fenerbaçhe have shown interest in Ismaïla Sarr, neither are for sale, via Ryan Taylor.
Rumour Ratings - 0/10
Nathaniel Clyne - Contract Expiry
Palace academy graduate Nathaniel Clyne has left the club following the conclusion of his contract. South London through and through, Clyne ends his Palace career having won three trophies, a true Palace great, thankyou Clyney.
Mamadou Sangaré
Palace were rumoured to enter the race for RC Lens midfielder Sangaré but it appears Brentford have completed the signing for around £41 million. Palace were interested, but couldn’t commit to that much financial outlay for a position that is not in dire need of reinforcement, especially not starting quality.
