From high-stakes interest in Adam Wharton to potential Ligue 1 arrivals, we rank the likelihood of the latest Selhurst Park links as Pierre Sage reshapes his squad.

Henry Swain summarises all the latest transfer rumours More Videos

With pre-season well underway, the transfer rumours have been in full flow, including departures and incomings from Selhurst Park. With that in mind, we’re going to cover all of the recent reviews every few days and bring you the likelihood of them happening through a ‘rumour rating’.

Pierre Sage took his first training session on Monday, not only an exciting time for the fans, but also a chance for the players to prove themselves to the new gaffer. As with any Summer window, the rumours are flying, and whilst some are unlikely, here’s a round-up of everything going on with Palace this Summer.

Arthur Theate

The Eintracht Frankfurt central defender was linked with a move to Selhurst Park this Summer. He’s 26-years-old, and was part of Belgium’s World Cup squad. Whilst Theate is a strong defender, his profile doesn’t particularly suit Palace, and he wouldn’t be an upgrade on the current options. Rumour Rating - 4/10

Adam Wharton

Linked with Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, Wharton’s future grows further distant from Selhurst Park by the day. Ultimately, a move to the Spanish giants would be a monumental transfer, perhaps eclipsing Michael Olise’s transfer to Bayern Munich.

Whilst the interested parties make plenty of sense, the reality is that Palace will be holding out for a huge fee if they are to sell. Fortunately for them, Madrid have deep pockets, and therefore could be front runners for Wharton’s signature if they choose to push for him. Rumour Rating - 6/10

Randal Kolo Muani

The French striker who spent last season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur has been ‘offered’ out to a number of clubs, including Palace, as Paris Saint Germain become increasingly frustrated with Juventus’ lack of conviction in negotiations.

This is likely just a ploy from PSG to force Juventus to buy, as the Old Lady have been reluctant to part ways with the money they had originally agreed to spend. Rumour Rating - 2/10

Mamadou Sangaré

The RC Lens midfielder is being linked to a move to Palace, and whilst the arrival of Pierre Sage will likely be impacting that, it’s also a realistic and sensible move for the club. Not only is Sangaré an excellent young midfielder, but with the increasing interest in Wharton, it would make sense to go early to find a replacement.

Sangaré has been at the centre of intrigue from a number of top clubs, but the previous history with Sage could put Palace in prime position to sign him. Rumour Rating - 7/10

Dominik Livaković

As Palace look likely to move on from Walter Benitez as a second choice, the club have turned their attention to Croatian stopper Livaković. Whilst the player reportedly prefers a move back to his old club Dinamo Zagreb, the Croatian side are unlikely to meet Fenerbaçhe’s demand of £3 million.

With no future at Fener, Livaković’s agents seem to be putting word out there for other clubs to enter the race. Rumour Rating - 5/10

Shea Charles

Leeds United had previously been in pole position to sign Southampton’s Shea Charles, but in the last few days both Fulham and Palace have entered the race. Whilst the player's preference seems to be a move to Leeds, Palace can certainly offer a more attractive proposal both in terms of monetary gain and also the offer of European football.

There’s also a chance that Palace could sweeten the deal with the inclusion of Justin Devenny, but that is yet to gain any legs. Rumour Rating - 6/10

David Ozoh

With one year left on his current deal, there are reports indicating that David Ozoh could depart the club on a permanent basis. Derby County, who Ozoh spent two seasons on loan with, are interested in a permanent move, whilst the Palace fanbase seems to want Ozoh to receive a chance to succeed at the club.

Ultimately the lack of length remaining on his contract means a move is likely, especially if a new deal cannot be reached or isn’t offered. Rumour Rating - 7/10

Maxence Lacroix

Numerous reports have linked Lacroix to a move away from South London this Summer, although sources close to the club have suggested that talks are yet to take place. The latest from the rumour mill is that Chelsea would be prepared to offer Trevoh Chalobah and cash in exchange for Lacroix.

Of course, Chalobah played on loan with Palace two seasons ago, and despite strong performances, he was recalled by Chelsea in the Winter window as they faced a complete lack of options due to an injury crisis. Now, they are willing to offload Chalobah in order to land their new target. Lacroix is going to chase a heavy fee, so this could happen, but it would still take a significant sum of money. Rumour Rating - 5/10

Krépin Diatta

The interest in the Senegalese winger/wing-back has been long standing this Summer. Now a free agent, Diatta would be available instantly and without club to club negotiation. His profile fits Palace’s system perfectly, and he would be a really strong depth option for Sage’s squad.

What could put a spanner in the works is Oscar Mingueza’s recent arrival at Selhurst Park. Mingueza is a very similar operator to Diatta, and therefore the chances of a move for Diatta may decrease. However, his versatility and quality would still be a good option for the club. Rumour Rating - 6/10
