Everton travel up to Newcastle once again, and it's a place they've had recent success.
What a win, eh Blues? We are back to playing the Toon on Monday night.
St James Park has been a decent hunting ground over the past few years. I divulge this in the most Everton way possible.
NEWCASTLE UNITED 1-3 EVERTON, 17TH APRIL 1999
Everton were struggling for results and goals, for that matter. Kevin Campbell came in and started like a bat out of hell.
Here he grabbed himself a brace plus a Scot Gemmill goal gave Everton a priceless win on the Tyne.
Kevin Campbell ended this season as Everton’s top goalscorer. He was only signed in March! This was Everton’s first away win at Newcastle in the Premier League
NEWCASTLE UNITED 6-2 EVERTON, 29TH MARCH 2002
David Moyes had only recently taken over the Blues, and with two games won on the bounce, Everton took to Newcastle in fine form.
Everton raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Duncan Ferguson, until the Toon resurged with six of your finest goals to put Everton to the sword.
The reason I have used this game is quite simple: Alan Shearer scored what should have been goal of the season with a lovely volley outside the box to nearly break the back of the net.
An unforgettable goal, but an unforgettable day for the Blues.
NEWCASTLE UNITED 0-3 EVERTON, 25TH MARCH 2014
Roberto Martinez’s Blues were on course for the Champions League, until the death, it seemed. Newcastle United, on the other hand, had a very plain season in 2013/14.
This game was all Everton. Ross Barkley, with a brilliant solo effort, marked the teenagers' coming-of-age goal, a typical Lukaku goal, and Newcastle were finished off by Leon Osman, who blasted the ball into the Toon net from outside the box.
Everton failed to get Champions League this year, and to be honest, it was the last time the Blues even looked like a Champions League playing team!
NEWCASTLE UNITED 2-3 EVERTON, 28TH FEBRUARY 2026
What a game this was. To be honest, it was two teams who just looked like they couldn’t defend. Jarrad Branthwaite got the ball rolling with a deft header from a corner. Ramsey and Murphy scored in between a Beto goal from a mistake by Nick Pope.
Then, the weirdest goal happened. Everton broke free with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who slid the ball in, Pope missed it, Thierno Barry fell over and landed on the ball, and it hit the Frenchman’s back and rolled into the empty net.
This should have been a 3-3 draw. Jordan Pickford pulled off the save of the season after Sandro Tonali volleyed from outside the box with some speed; Pickford acrobatically palmed the ball over, and the game was won. 2 in 2 for Everton at St James Park.
Let’s hope it is 3 out of 3, we need this!
