The Senegalese international’s refusal to sign a lucrative extension sparks summer transfer fears at Goodison Park as Champions League suitors circle the coveted 26-year-old star.
Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye has reportedly rejected multiple contract offers over the course of the season, according to The Athletic.
Ndiaye will be preparing to head to the World Cup with Senegal, but transfer speculation is starting to surround the tricky forward.
Everton secured the signature of Ndiaye back in 2024, bringing him to the club from Marseille for a fee of just £15m. After an impressive stint with the Toffees, interest in the Senegalese international is expected to be rife this summer.
Everton face Ndiaye fight
According to a report from The Athletic, Everton face a fight to keep Ndiaye at the club heading into the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old has already rejected multiple new offers from the club throughout the 2025/2026 campaign, with the Toffees offering fresh terms to make him one of the highest-paid players.
Talks over a new contract have been ongoing since the beginning of the year, with one sticking point being the inclusion of a release clause which could be triggered this summer.
There is expected to be plenty of interest from clubs in the Champions League for Ndiaye, which could strengthen his hand in terms of negotiating a new deal. The report claims that Ndiaye hasn't actively pushed to leave the club, and he remains committed despite rejecting new deals.
Everton have big decision to make
As we head towards the summer transfer window, Everton have a big decision to make if an offer arrives on the table for the former Marseille forward. Considering Ndiaye only arrived for a fee of around £15 million, the Toffees could make a huge profit if they decided to sell this summer.
The Senegalese international has been one of the most exciting players to watch in Everton's recent history, but there's no doubt his attacking numbers could be better. Selling him for a huge profit could allow Everton to invest in other areas, but Everton supporters would likely want to see him remain at the club.
The Toffees need to decide whether they are going to head in the direction of being a sell-to-buy club, or if they want to make a statement of intent and keep their best players at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Building around Ndiaye and helping get the best out of him long-term would be a smart move, but it's not a good sign that he's not willing to sign a new contract.
