Let's take a look at the average player ratings for Everton from the first seven games of the season, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Tyler Dibling standing out.
Over the course of the season so far at Everton Roundtable, we've produced a player ratings article for every single game.
That includes Premier League and the Carabao Cup, giving us a picture of what we've rated each player over the course of the campaign so far.
Some of the sample sizes are a little small for those who have barely featured. Tyler Dibling has only started twice, for example, and Jake O'Brien only once.
We have average ratings spanning frrom 4.67 all the way up to 7.50, with plenty in between.
So, let's get into it, firstly looking at a snapshot of the ratings so far.

So these player ratings have covered five Premier League matches and two in the Carabao Cup. The averages are skewed slightly due to the fact we only produced player ratings for substitutes on one occassion, however.
18 players have been given an average rating score.
Firstly, the highest single rating. That, of course, goes to Thierno Barry for his hat-trick against Preston North End, where he received a 10/10 rating. Harrison Armstrong, Tyler Dibling, and Tyrique George all received a nine rating at some point during the season, but it's Barry who takes this award.
The lowest single rating goes to Brennan Johnson, who also has the lowest average so far, with 4.67. The lower rating was a 4/10 against his former club, Tottenham.
The best average goes to Dibling with 7.5 after a 6/10 followed by a 9/10. As mentioned, it's a small sample size, so the player with the highest average having played more than three games is Jarrad Branthwaite with a 7.4.
A handful of players have averaged above a seven, and those are Branthwaite, Dibling, Vitalii Mykolenko, Hayden Hackney, Armstrong, and George.

Looking back at the average player ratings certainly paints an interesting picture. It's harsh to say Johnson deserves to be that low, whereas maybe someone like James Tarkowski deserves to be higher.
It's no surprise that Branthwaite tops the list (for those to have played more than three games) as I do think he's been our most consistent performer this season.
Interestingly, Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and James Garner are fairly low, so it could be great to see them kick into gear soon. That's three key players for Everton who haven't been at their best, so the Toffees could go to the next level if they hit the heights many expect.
