Everton trio Jordan Pickford, James Garner, and Jarrad Branthwaite have all been called up to the England squad for the November international break.

It's rare to see three Everton players in an England squad, especially in the opening set of players.

Jarrad Branthwaite, James Garner, and Jordan Pickford were all in the last England squad eventually, but only after multiple players dropped out due to injury.

Pickford was rotated in and out of the side with James Trafford as Thomas Tuchel looks to find the right goalkeeper ahead of Euro 2028.

Garner and Branthwaite both failed to start during the previous international break, but they were given a few minutes by Tuchel.

All three will have been waiting to discover whether Tuchel named them in the squad again as England prepare to face Croatia and Spain in the Nations League.

Everton trio called up

Branthwaite, Garner, and Pickford have all been named in the England squad to face Spain and Croatia in the Nations League over the coming weeks.  As mentioned, all three weren't in the squad from the start last time around, but they've now been named from the beginning. That's Tuchel picking an incredibly young squad.

Pickford would have certainly been expecting to make the squad, given he remains in the battle to be England's number one goalkeeper. Branthwaite and Garner are more in and out of the squad for England, but there's no doubt the former deserves to be in there in particular.

Garner has enjoyed a relatively strong season, but it does feel like he's never going to become a guaranteed starter for England. Branthwaite, on the other hand, has every chance of becoming England's left-sided centre-back, as long as he can stay injury-free.

 Dewsbury-Hall misses out

Many were tipping Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to be called up to the England squad ahead of the upcoming international break. Unfortunately for him, he has missed out on the November camp, which is a crucial blow for the former Chelsea man.

It does feel like that call-up is never going to come for him, especially given the profile of players that Tuchel has picked.

As harsh as it might be for Dewsbury-Hall, it does make sense from Tuchel.  The England manager has picked Josh King and Jobe Bellingham, who are two players likely competing with Dewsbury-Hall for a place.

There's no doubt Dewsbury-Hall is a better player than these two at the moment, but Tuchel is clearly building for Euro 2028. When that tournament comes round, Dewsbury-Hall will be nearly 31, and Tuchel is clearly looking to test some of the young players.

The England manager is building for the future. Although Dewsbury-Hall may have deserved a place on form, unfortunately for him, he's not going to be the future of England.
