Middlesbrough may move for the teenage midfielder as a replacement for Hayden Hackney, offering the Toffees prospect vital Championship minutes under the guidance of Kim Hellberg.

Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong is attracting interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

The England youth international could head through the exit door in the summer, especially with the Toffees targeting new midfield reinforcements.

Armstrong spent the first half of last season on loan at Preston, where he flourished in the Championship before being recalled to Everton in January.

Following his return, Armstrong struggled to break into David Moyes's side on a regular basis, and as a result, a departure in the summer transfer window wouldn't be a surprise.

Everton are likely to want to keep hold of Armstrong for the long term, and they need to ensure that they get his development right over the coming years.

Another loan move might be smart for him in order for him to continue playing regular football.

Middlesbrough eyeing Harrison Armstrong

According to a report from Leicestershire Live, Middlesbrough are on the lookout for a replacement for Hayden Hackney in the summer transfer window.

It's claimed that Everton youngster Armstrong is a player on their radar, but it's unclear whether they are interested in a permanent or a loan move for you.

Considering there is little chance the Toffees would be willing to sanction a permanent exit for Armstrong, you'd imagine any potential move to Middlesbrough would be on loan.

Boro are looking to find a replacement for Hackney after reports emerged that they have now agreed a deal to sell him to Everton for an initial fee of £16.5 million.

Middlesbrough could be ideal move for Armstrong

A move to Middlesbrough could be ideal for Armstrong in the summer transfer window.

Armstrong could come in and be a direct replacement for Hackney in the Middlesbrough midfield, playing in a similar role to the soon-to-be Everton star.

Hackney and Armstrong both play box-to-box roles in midfield, or at least they are both capable of doing so.

Kim Hellberg is one of the best up-and-coming coaches in England at the moment, which could be the ideal breeding ground for Armstrong.

Middlesbrough play exciting attacking football while they also press hard on the pitch, allowing him to work on defending from the front.

A move to Middlesbrough will allow Armstrong to develop his ability on the ball and also off it, while there is a strong chance they will be pushing for promotion, which could be a valuable experience for his development.
