Everton have a difficult month approaching, facing Hull, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle.
With the international break coming to a close, Everton now have a hectic October, especially for a club that doesn’t compete in European competitions.
The Toffees will face Hull City in their next match away from home in the Premier League on Sunday, The Tigers sit just below Everton in eighth position in the table, losing just once since their return to the top flight.
Everton then host Chelsea in a Saturday lunchtime kick-off the week after, before travelling down to London to face Premier League champions Arsenal.
To round off October, Everton host Newcastle United just a few days after the Arsenal game in the Carabao Cup, before travelling to St James’ Park later that week at the start of November.
It’s a tough period for Everton, who are currently remain unbeaten. Will David Moyes see his first loss of the season before the end of the month?
Hull City
This is going to be a really interesting game. Well, perhaps not that interesting to some people, but it’s a real clash of similar styles that have worked this season.

This is two teams that have a real lack of control in the middle of the pitch. Everton have more control in the wide areas, which could be where this game is won or lost for Everton.
I do think Everton have enough in the midfield to control the game, but it’s not something we see too often. Despite that, against a side like Hull, especially with Christian Norgaard, who recently returned to training, potentially available, this could be a battle the Toffees win.
We’re predicting a 2-1 win. Hull to score from a set-piece.
Chelsea
Chelsea are incredibly vulnerable at the back, but Everton aren’t the most clinical to say the least. Chelsea also have some phenomenal talent going forward, and the likes of Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers are going to get a lot of joy finding space in behind Everton’s disjointed midfield.
This could be a serious goal fest. 3-2 to Chelsea, unfortunately.
Arsenal
Everton’s game plan will likely be to sit back and absorb pressure, looking to hit Arsenal in transition. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Brennan Johnson on the right-hand side for this one to try to use his pace and defensive work rate.
It’s incredibly difficult to see Everton getting a result away from home, but it’s also hard to see Arsenal battering the Toffees.
2-0 victory to Arsenal via two late goals.
Newcastle
This is a really difficult game to call. Newcastle have been very inconsistent so far this season, and they have a real lack of experience in their side.
It’s always tricky to call Carabao Cup games as you never know how much teams are going to rotate. You’d imagine Everton might take this one a little more seriously than Newcastle: only a little bit.
It’s been a while since Everton won a trophy, and with it being at home, it’s an opportunity to beat our first Premier League side in the competition. The Toffees won’t want to fall at the first difficult hurdle, and hopefully the atmosphere matches the importance.
2-1 victory to Everton. Que sera, sera.
