Everton will face Coventry City in the Premier League on Friday evening, and we could see some changes from David Moyes.
With Everton playing just a few days ago, David Moyes might be considering making some changes ahead of the game against Coventry City.
The Toffees defeated Newcastle United on Monday night, helping them climb back into the top half of the Premier League table. Although it was a comfortable evening in terms of limiting Newcastle's chances, they still had to defend for large portions of the second half.
Everton worked incredibly hard to keep their sheet clean, and that will undoubtedly have taken out some of the players. As a result, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Moyes make some changes ahead of the game against Frank Lampard's side.
Moyes isn't known for regularly rotating his team too much, particularly in the Premier League, but he may feel it's necessary heading into the game against Coventry.
With all due respect to Lampard's side, it is an opportunity for Moyes to maybe bring in some players who haven't had as much game time.
Although Everton need to take commentary seriously, they do have strong options waiting to be given more of a chance.
The changes Everton should make
With it being such a quick turnaround between the two games, there's no doubt Moyes should be looking to rotate his side at least a little bit. Jarrad Branthwaite came off with cramp on Monday night, following after he was out for two weeks prior to that.
In reality, given Everton are looking to manage the minutes of Branthwaite, it would make sense to bring him out of the starting eleven for this game. Jake O'Brien is more than a competent option to play at centre-back with James Tarkowski, meaning Everton's defence isn't significantly weakened.
That gives an opportunity for Merlin Rohl to drop back in at right-back. Although he has struggled there at times this season, he probably doesn't deserve to be completely dropped. There's another option who should be going on the right-hand side of the attack.
This is a great opportunity for Moyes to give Tyler Dibling some minutes. He's showing he's more than capable of competing at Premier League level and deserves an opportunity to impress.
This could also be the ideal game for Hayden Hackney. Although we've spoken about why Harrison Armstrong deserves more respect, there's no reason why he can't be rotated in and out of the side.
Hackney's attacking ability could be useful in this game, while it shouldn't be too much of a problem losing him defensively.
Pickford; Rohl, Tarkowski, O'Brien, Mykolenko; Hackney, Garner; Dibling, Dewsbury-Hall, George; Barry.
That side should still be more than strong enough to beat Coventry, especially with Everton having momentum and confidence coming from their previous two games against Newcastle.
