Everton are preparing to face Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend, and it's a place they've struggled to go over the years.

Chelsea at home has been and gone, thankfully!

Now let’s look at our next fixture. Arsenal. Away. Ughhh. I am going to look at Arsenal's games over the years. We have the worst record away from home at Arsenal. Highbury was one of the worst grounds for the Blues. Let’s get to it.

ARSENAL 1- 2 EVERTON 20TH January 1996

Joe Royle had the Blues playing after their FA Cup win in 1995, added to the firepower of Andrei Kanchelskis.

This was one of the results of the season. 1-0 down and coming back to win 1-2 at Highbury was basically unheard of.

Graham Stuart with a low drive, brought the Blues level and then, magic Andrei took over to complete the win with another drive which flew past David Seaman’s despairing arm.

ARSENAL 2-2 EVERTON 9TH January 2010

Fast forward to 2010, Moyes’ Everton had a tough game with title-chasing Arsenal. Everton took the lead in the 12th minute with a Leon Osman header from a lovely corner from Landon Donovan.

Denilson got the game back in level terms on the 28th-minute mark. 81 mins in, Steven Pienaar broke away from the Arsenal midfield and produced a lovely chip over Manuel Almunia in the snow-covered goal, to give Everton a 1-2 lead with 10 mins to play.

Heartbreak followed when a Tomas Rosicky shot rebounded off Lucas Neill (remember him) past Tim Howard for the spoils to be shared. That one still stings now to be honest.

ARSENAL 1-1 EVERTON 8TH December 2013

Everton love a winter fixture vs Arsenal, don’t they? Ross Barkley announced himself in this game.

He absolutely ran the show and deserved to be on the winning side this fixture. It was Arsenal who drew first blood on 80 mins when Mesut Ozil buried past Tim Howard from close range, which looked like another heartbreak away at Arsenal.

Everton did, however, get the point when the ball came over from the left-hand side, Romelu Lukaku went for the ambitious overhead kick, missed it, the ball landed at Gerard Deulofeu’s foot who twisted and turned and belted the ball into the Arsenal net. Right in front of the away end. MAYHEM.

ARSENAL 0-1 EVERTON 23RD April 2021

Covid was a weird time, wasn’t it?

Everton secured their first Premier League win at the Emirates. This game was not one for the ages; Everton started on the front foot with Arsenal coming back into it as the game went on. The game had 0-0 all over it, then well. R

Richarlison sprinted free of the Arsenal defence and smashed the ball goalwards which was too much for Bernd Leno to keep hold of and spilt the ball into the Arsenal goal. 0-1 in the 76th minute, and it stayed.

As you can see, Arsenal’s ground has not been a good hunting ground. We have had some hidings. 7-0, 5-1 twice, to name a couple. To bounce back from Chelsea, we need to be on top of our game.

We shall see.
