Fulham finally scored a goal and ended Aston Villa's winning streak against them with an important 1-0 win at Craven Cottage. But who impressed and who will be lucky to play the next match?

Tom Masters gives his post-match analysis on Fulham's 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

Fulham scored their first goal since March and ended their losing streak with an impressive 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

The Cottagers took the lead late in the first half through Ryan Sessegnon and held out to ensure their European hopes for next season remained intact.

But who impressed the most and who was still a passenger?

Here are our player ratings.

Bernd Leno - 6

The hero from the week before, Bernd Leno was barely called upon as Fulham resolutely held out the Villa attack.

Villa’s biggest chances, through Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Tammy Abraham, were all wayward and so the German did not have too much to do.

Calvin Bassey - 7

Adapted well to the change in formation, slotting in at left centre back as Marco Silva adapted his formation to three at the back.

Should the Portuguese opt to maintain that for the remainder of the season, Bassey showed he has the pace and passing ability to be able to slot right in.

Joachim Andersen - 9

A proper captain’s performance from the Dane, and he was correctly awarded player of the match.

Completed more tackles, blocks and interceptions than anyone else on the pitch and was hugely impressive in all areas.

Timothy Castagne - 8

Asked to play at right centre back and boy did he do so effectively.

Was hugely unfortunate not to come away with either a goal or assist but it was his excellent cross that led to Fulham’s goal and his header being disallowed was not his fault.

Ryan Sessegnon - 8

What a week for Ryan Sessegnon.

Signed a new deal with his boyhood club and then showed his attacking credentials with a brilliantly composed finish.

Also completed 100% of his tackles and was unlucky not to be awarded player of the match.

Sander Berge - 7

After being dropped for the Brentford match, this was a far more composed performance from the Norwegian, who showed his ability both on and off the ball

Sasa Lukic - 7

Will be credited with the assist for Sessegnon’s goal if you are a Lukic FPL owner but this was another solid performance from the Serb.

Again, could have come away with both a goal and assist, after his ball was met by Castagne before being disallowed for a Berge foul.

Harry Wilson - 7

Credit to Marco Silva for having the courage to play his star player at right wing back, but that is exactly what he did and to great success.

Wilson had a far less attacking threat than we have become accustomed to in recent weeks, but his work in defence was hugely noted, with the Welshman twice dealing with dangerous attacks.

Samuel Chukwueze - 7

This was more like it from the Nigerian and showed why Fulham are almost certain to attempt to sign him on a permanent deal this summer.

Much more direct and his two key passes showed the bit of incision that had been missing since returning from international duty.

Emile Smith Rowe - 6

For whatever reason, things are just not clicking for Emile Smith Rowe at the moment but there were some small glimpses of what he can offer in this match.

Dribbling ability is something to behold but a combined 0.06 XGi showed he did not do much with it.

Raul Jimenez - 6

Has had a strong season at the Cottage and his nine goals are hugely appreciated but Fulham just do need a centre forward to make the next step.

Had one decent header which he hit straight at Emiliano Martinez but was otherwise fairly anonymous.

Substitutes:

Rodrigo Muniz - 7

As a striker, he also did not do an awful lot but in terms of making an impact as a whole, Muniz was mighty effective, especially defensively.

Josh King - 6

Did not provide an awful lot of impact but by the time he came on, Fulham were looking to hold out for a point anyway.

Oscar Bobb - 6

Looked sharper and more confident, this was the player Fulham signed, was only on for 14 minutes though so could not make any material impact.

Antonee Robinson - 6

Came on for just 10 minutes to replace Sessegnon, who hopefully isn’t seriously injured with what appeared a hamstring strain.
