It is the day before transfer deadline day, and in years gone by this was a hugely exciting time.

Almost like Christmas Eve for football fans, with the prospect of last-minute business being conducted all over the world of football and deals you could never have imagined happening rocking the transfer market once more.

But since the era of social media and the birth of transfer giants Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein, transfer deadline day has become a whole other thing - with most of the deals known about for some time before they are eventually concluded.

Nonetheless, it can still be exciting and Fulham will likely be looking to see if they can land a deal or two themselves to close off what has been a fairly busy transfer window.

And, in case you have forgotten anything that has happened this summer, we look back at all of Fulham’s transfer activity since the market opened.

INS

Gonzalo Garcia (Real Madrid) €40 million

Shea Charles (Southampton) €30.4 million

Cesar Palacios (Real Madrid) €10 million

Jonah Kusi-Asare (Bayern Munich) €6 million

Fulham started fairly early when managing to negotiate with Germany giants Bayern Munich to secure the signing of Sweden forward Jonah Kusi-Asare.

There was then a period of quiet, though with rumours beginning to emerge of deals to be done with Real Madrid.

That was of course primarily for striker Gonzalo Garcia, who was the number one target for new manager Alvaro Arbeloa, having worked with the forward since the Real Madrid academy days.

It looked at one stage as though Garcia was going to remain in the Spanish capital, with Jose Mourinho, re-appointed at the Bernabeu, reportedly interested in keeping him in Madrid.

In the end though, Los Blancos chose finances over any possible sentimentality and Garcia was allowed to leave Los Blancos.

He did not come alone either, with Fulham also bringing in Cesar Palacios from the Spanish capital.

Not too long after that and Fulham successfully warded off Leeds to bring in Shea Charles from Southampton, with the 22-year-old the subject of significant interest following the Spygate scandal, which prevented Saints from earning promotion to the Premier League.

OUTS

Sasa Lukic (Ipswich) €10.5 million

Issa Diop (Ipswich) €10 million

Harry Wilson (Leeds) Free

Raul Jimenez (Wolves) Free

Steven Benda (Nottingham Forest) Free

The transfer window could not have got off to a much worse start for Fulham, who lost both Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez on free transfers to Leeds and Wolves, respectively.

Jimenez was not offered a new contract and opted to return to his old club and try to guide them back to the top flight after relegation last season.

Meanwhile, Wilson was offered a new deal by Fulham, but chose to move to Elland Road after his deal to join Leeds fell through on deadline day last summer.

The Cottagers also moved both Sasa Lukic and Issa Diop on to Ipswich as they look to bring down the age profile of the squad.

The 29-year-olds both fetched small fees, despite Diop in particular impressing for Morocco at the World Cup.

Goalkeeper Steven Benda was also allowed to leave Fulham and join Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
