With seven matches to go and the international break beginning to reach its end, we have a look at everything that is still to play for for Fulham ahead of the business end of the season getting back underway.

Tom Masters explains what is at stake for Fulham still this season.

Seven matches to go but an awful lot to play for still.

Fulham are locked into a battle for European football, with the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League all still possible as things stand.

Sitting ninth in the Premier League, there is some work to do, but there is a growing belief that this could be the year that Fulham return to European football for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

There are also plenty of other individual accolades to play for, and of course, pride.

We take you through what the end of the season has on offer for Fulham.

A European push

Fulham are in the mix.

That is the first step, now it is about finishing the season as strongly as possible.

It remains a difficult task, with Liverpool and Chelsea now being dragged back into a battle for European football after a poor run of results; there are now as many as 10 teams who are in the race.

That means that half of the league’s supporters are currently believing their side can be going on European adventures next season, but there are in reality only three slots available.

Crystal Palace are the long shots and should they lose their game in hand against Manchester City are probably out of the running.

They also have the Conference League to worry about so will likely fall away from the race.

The same cannot be said for Bournemouth, Newcastle, Sunderland, Brighton, Everton and Brentford, as well of course as Fulham.

Then there is Chelsea and Liverpool, who have one win combined in their last three matches.

They would ordinarily both be expected to finish in the top six, but this season feels like it could go the way of one of the ‘minnows’.

Fulham’s fixtures suggest it is in their hands with a clash at Anfield their first game back in the Premier League, before a vital match against Brentford.

Home ties against Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Newcastle are all going to be essential to win, while trips to the Emirates and Molineux will be challenging.

It is something that could go down to the wire, but Fulham will need to at least draw at Brentford you feel for the dream to remain alive.

Individual accolades

This has been a season in which we have seen Harry Wilson repeatedly catch the eye and he could be in for a historic end to the season.

With 10 Premier League goals to his name in 29 matches, Wilson is in range of breaking records.

Clint Dempsey has the most Premier League goals in a single season for Fulham, scoring 17 in the 2011-12 season.

He played in 37 matches and was on the pitch for 3,325 minutes.

Wilson can only reach 36 matches and can reach a maximum of 2,891 minutes so it would be impressive if he can match or usurp Dempsey as Fulham’s most prolific campaign.

Raul Jimenez is also within striking distance on nine goals, so there is a chance for two players to finish extremely high up the list for the Cottagers.

Wilson could also be Fulham’s best provider in a season, with his six assists already drawing him level with Alex Iwobi and Clint Dempsey from the 2024-25 and 2011-12 seasons, respectively in third place.

Now he has only Steed Malbranque’s eight assists from the 2001-02 season and Luis Boa Morte’s nine from the 2004-05 season standing in his way.

So this season could be historic in terms of the individuals as well as the team.

Pride?

There is of course the real possibility that Fulham fail to win at Anfield or beat Brentford and from then on, the European battle may be largely over for the Cottagers, depending on other results.

But should they fall short, the season must be remembered as an excellent one.

This has been a season already that has seen Fulham do the double over Tottenham, beat Chelsea, beat Brentford and wn memorable away matches against Sunderland and West Ham.

The FA Cup loss to Sunderland at home was disappointing, that felt like an opportunity gone begging, but from a Premier League perspective, this has been a season to be proud of.

Fulham now appear to be a team that can compete for Europe going forward and the squad is now packed with genuinely exciting talents.

It will also likely be the last involvement for Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson in Fulham shirts, and they deserve a top-end to the season.

Hopefully pride will be restored with reaching Europe, but if not, Fulham fans must be pleased with the season.
