With Marco Silva digging his heels in and not yet providing a concrete answer over whether or not he is going to stay at Fulham, could Thomas Frank be the man to replace him if he goes?

Tom Masters runs through the chances of Thomas Frank joining Fulham.

The situation with Marco Silva is one that seems likely to drag on until June.

Does the Portuguese stay or does he go?

Well, that is the question on all Fulham fans’ lips with Silva’s contract coming to an end at the end of June.

Fulham have put all their cards on the table, they want Silva to stay, the players are also rumoured to want Silva to stay.

But despite having a contract offered to him in October, Silva has yet to sign it.

With the end of June now just two months away and plans starting to form for next season and beyond, Fulham will have to consider options if Silva does decide to depart.

And according to the i Paper, former Brentford manager Thomas Frank could be the man to take over.

According to an i paper source, Frank fits the bill perfectly for what Tony Khan would want as any possible successor for Silva.

They told the i paper: “He lives in Sheen, south west London and would be a good fit for Fulham, but Crystal Palace are also interested.

“The Khan family are big on someone nice to deal with in and around the club, and Thomas Frank is a really decent guy.

“Older and younger Fulham fans may have different views on the idea of him, but he is a good fit for younger player development which worked well at Brentford - this has obvious appeal for the Khans.

“I’m not sure he would be the top choice if Marco left, but he is a choice. He was at the Brentford-Fulham game for something, maybe he was looking at Fulham?

“He knows the Premier League very well so would certainly be a consideration if things were to change.”

Frank exceeded all expectations with Brentford when they came into the Premier League, and from the get-go, when the Bees defeated Arsenal in their opening Premier League clash, he was hugely respected.

Eventually, he was always going to make a jump, and he made that when taking over from Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham in June.

That ill-fated job lasted just eight months, with Frank sacked in February after a dismal run of results, but as we have seen from Igor Tudor and Roberto De Zerbi since, and even from Postecoglou before, the Tottenham job seems like a poisoned chalice at the moment.

Frank’s attendance at Fulham’s 0-0 draw with Brentford could simply be the Dane going to watch his former side play but it could also have been a first step in him replacing Marco Silva at Craven Cottage.
