Ryan Sessegnon has signed a contract extension that seems him stay at Craven Cottage until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Tom Masters explains Ryan Sessegnon's contract extension with Fulham.

Fulham left back Ryan Sessegnon has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him at Craven Cottage until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Sessegnon re-joined Fulham from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2024 on a two-year contract with the option for the club to trigger a third year.

The club have opted to keep Sessegnon at the club after he has become a more important part of the team.

Able to play at left back or on either wing, Sessegnon has played in all bar seven of Fulham’s 33 Premier League ties so far this season.

Having made his debut for the club in the Championship in the 2016-17 season, he has now played 170 times for the Cottagers, scoring 31 goals across all competitions.

Speaking to Fulham TV, Sessegnon spoke on signing his new contract, saying: “Of course, it’s the Club that I’ve always wanted to be at.

“I’m very comfortable at this Club, I’m happy with how it’s going, last season and now this season as well, and I just want to finish the season strongly.”

Sessegnon first joined the club’s academy at the age of eight and remained in the youth set-up until he was 16.

He then made his breakthrough for the Fulham first team at the age of 16 years and 81 days in the EFL Cup against Leyton Orient.

The rest, as they say is history, with Sessegnon going on to represent Fulham  120 times in his first three seasons of senior football, before moving to Tottenham when the Cottagers were relegated in 2019.

After four years away from Craven Cottage though, Sesssegnon returned.

It was initially a season to reacclimatise, before this season, which has seen him play eight more Premier League matches than last season’s entire total already, something Sessegnon was delighted about.

He added: “Last season was obviously very different, with me being away and then coming back, but I feel like this season I feel very much part of it and it feels like I never left.

“That was my aim last season because I didn’t probably play as many games as I hoped or wanted to but I set myself a goal for this season to play way more games and I managed to do that.

“I think it has been similar to last season, we are in a similar type of position but I think overall it has been a good season.”
