Marco Silva is on Tottenham's shortlist for a new manager, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. With Igor Tudor seemingly destined to be sacked by Spurs before their next game after the international break, Silva is being considered by Spurs, although he is far from a favourite.
As seems to happen every season, we are at the business end and the time when Marco Silva is sought after.
In another steady campaign in which Fulham again stayed well clear of any possible relegation issues and are looking up, clubs that have not had the same fortunes begin to get restless.
The most obvious candidate to fit that description is Tottenham, who have had another dismal league campaign and are in serious danger of relegation.
Thomas Frank struggled and was removed at least a few games too late and Igor Tudor was a strange interim appointment.
The Croatian has now only one point from a possible 15, with Spurs last winning in early December.
Now just a point above the relegation zone with seven matches to play, Igor Tudor will not be Tottenham manager next season and he seems likely to be removed this year.
That raises complications as coming in now would surely need a manager who is available; there can’t be many managers who would jump ship to join one that has almost capsized.
But if Spurs do decide they will weather this storm and manage to survive at West Ham, Nottingham Forest or Leeds’ expense, then it becomes more worrying from a Fulham perspective.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Marco Silva is being discussed internally as a potential option to take the job in north London.
This is of course purely a rumour at this stage and it feels as though there are several other candidates a long way ahead of the Portuguese but the fact he is even in contention is something that should set alarm bells ringing.

That may initially have been to see how the season panned out, it may have been to see what squad he will end up with come next year, or it may have been to see what other opportunities are out there.
This leaves Fulham in a precarious position where both the manager and star player Harry Wilson could jump ship and Fulham would get no compensation whatsoever.
The good news for Fulham fans is that BetVictor have Silva at 33/1 to become the next Tottenham manager, with Roberto De Zerbi the clear favourite at 2/1.
Regardless of whether or not he takes the Tottenham job though, Fulham need to tie down Silva as soon as possible or they may face a summer of uncertainty.
