With Harry Wilson appearing more and more likely to depart Craven Cottage this summer, who could Fulham actually replace him with?
The rumours surrounding Harry Wilson have turned to reports and there is now a sense of inevitability that Fulham’s star player will not be checking into Motspur Park for pre-season.
Wilson has, according to reports from Wales Online, chosen to join Aston Villa in the summer, with his wages doubling to £100,000 a week.
It is a blow for Fulham, losing their player of the season on a free transfer, but football is a fickle sport and Tony Khan and the club hierarchy will already have started planning for life without Wilson.
Now, we of course do not know exactly who the Cottagers may look to sign as a Wilson replacement.
There is of course, no money coming in for the Welshman, so they cannot reinvest a big £50 million fee that he may have fetched given his form.
But, with a few rumours swirling and a few players who simply look like they could be good fits at Fulham, we have identified three possible replacements for Wilson.
1. Malik Tillman (Bayer Leverkusen)
This is probably the most ambitious, but it is also one in which there have been active links already.
Tillman and Fulham were first linked last week, with a report in the Daily Mail suggesting the club were ‘exploring’ a potential deal to sign the US attacker.
There is also interest from Bournemouth and from Brentford, two clubs in a similar spot to Fulham regarding their ambitions.
Tillman has scored six goals in 25 matches for Bayer Leverkusen this year and with a £35 million buyback clause for Bayern Munich, it doesn’t seem likely he would cost much more than that.

After moving around several times in his early career, Leo Scienza has finally made his mark at Southampton.
The Brazilian-born winger is a real handful and has output too, having scored seven goals in 35 matches in the Championship.
Anyone concerned that he would not be able to make the step up to the Premier League needs only to look at his performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Scienza primarily operates in the No.10 role but he can also play on both the left and the right and is extremely two-footed.
If Southampton fail to earn promotion to the Premier League, Scienza could well be an exciting addition to the Fulham side, though his contract at Saints does last until 2029.

Another player who has excelled in the Championship this season is Femi Azeez.
The Millwall winger has bagged nine goals and assisted eight times in 33 matches this season as The Lions also push for promotion.
Azeez does not play in the No.10 role like Wilson but his ability on the right and the left would act as a replacement anyway, with Emile Smith Rowe and Josh King able to continue their battle in the central position.
Azeez has a contract at the Den until 2028 but should they fail to be promoted, he could be a good fit for Fulham.
