We are still unsure whether Marco Silva is staying at Craven Cottage or not, he may, he may not. But with time running out, it is worth considering potential replacements.

Tom Masters analyses three potential replacements for Marco Silva

The name Marco Silva seems to come off quicker on my keys than anything else at the moment.

And there is no surprise there, as the Portuguese is currently still stalling on the contract extension that was offered to him way back in October.

The 48-year-old is digging in, rightly or wrongly, and at this stage, with just four matches remaining of the Premier League season, we do not know if he will be in the dugout come August.

With that, I am sure Tony Khan has looked at potential replacements for Silva should he leave.

Hopefully he has anyway, as right now, Marco Silva staying feels very much in the balance.

But, from the point of view of someone not involved in the club, who could take over from Silva in the summer.

Well, here is a shortlist of three managers who could fit the bill.

Andoni Iraola

Now, I know what you’re thinking, surely this is too ambitious, he’s linked to Chelsea?

Well, there is method to my madness and the madness essentially is that if Marco Silva is not at Fulham next year, then he will be at Chelsea.

That means that Iraola, who will leave Bournemouth in the summer, would be available, probably.

He is also sought after by Crystal Palace and his football is at times immaculate.

A big question would be, would he take the Fulham job?

Kieran McKenna

Ipswich are very close to securing their second promotion to the Premier League under Kieran McKenna and that may make this selection null and void.

But, he is very much in the Fulham mould in terms of the type of manager they would like to bring in.

His football is more possession-based than Iraola’s but he got Ipswich at times playing some excellent stuff last season and this year they look a top side despite losing some of their big talents.

McKenna will have admirers elsewhere but if he wanted to make the step up to a settled Premier League club, perhaps now is the time?

Liam Rosenior

Now, before Rosenior was appointed Chelsea manager, this would have been an interesting option.

Now many will look at Rosenior as a laughable option given how badly things went at Stamford Bridge.

But, he remains an exciting young manager and, perhaps more importantly, someone with links to the club, having previously played for Fulham.

Rosenior was at Fulham between 2003 and 2007 and, while at Strasbourg, looked a very good manager indeed.

Sometimes, a manager can take a top job too early and on this occasion it appears to be the case - could Fulham offer him a way to stabilise his career?
