The saga that keeps on going sees Fulham's Harry Wilson being courted by Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi. The Welshman is looking more and more likely to depart The Cottagers this summer and now the Spurs manager is now actively seeing Wilson as a perfect first signing.

Tom Masters explains the latest of the Harry Wilson situation.

We are yet to return from the international break but the Harry Wilson saga continues to dominate the headlines.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this season and with each passing day, it seems more and more likely that the Welshman is going to leave Craven Cottage.

Roundtable have previously reported interest from Aston Villa, Everton, Leeds, Wrexham, Liverpool and Manchester United in signing Wilson this summer.

Another club, Tottenham Hotspur, have also expressed interest and that interest appears to have further materialised.

According to Transfer Guru Ekrem Konur, Spurs’ new manager Roberto De Zerbi sees Wilson as the perfect first signing of his tenure in north London.

Wilson has scored 10 goals and has six further assists in 29 Premier League matches this season.

But Fulham have been unable to tie him down to a new contract and with his current form making him one of the standout performers in the entirety of the Premier League this season, it is no surprise that clubs are queuing up.

De Zerbi took over as Spurs manager after the ill-fated reign of Igor Tudor and faces a genuine battle over the next seven matches to keep his new club in the Premier League.

But should he do so, part of his new contract with Tottenham is that he will be significant sway in transfer dealings.

Wilson could represent a perfect first signing for De Zerbi, both offering value as a free agent and being able to slot in on the right-hand side, where he has largely excelled for Fulham this season, or play in the No.10 role, where he often slots in for Wales.

Spurs have struggled massively for goals and creativity this season, with the likes of James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus missing either the entire season or large chunks of it.

Wilson would add depth to De Zerbi’s squad but also genuine quality.

It is an issue from a Fulham perspective that the number of clubs seriously interested in making a move for their star player is rising seemingly by the day.

Wilson’s former club Liverpool are said to be genuinely interested in securing his services, with Mohamed Salah departing Anfield this summer.

But Konur confirmed that Manchester United are also monitoring him closely, as they look to expand their squad for an almost guaranteed Champions League campaign next season.

It is set to be a challenging transfer window for Fulham, with Wilson looking more and more likely to depart and the club also set to lose Raul Jimenez, whose contract also runs out.

That is 19 goals being stripped out of the Fulham side, with both top scorers currently not lining up in west London next season as things stand.

Add in the Marco Silva managerial situation, and there is a whole heap of uncertainty surrounding Craven Cottage right now.

Fulham fans will be concentrating on the upcoming Liverpool clash, but there will be a sense of worry in the backs of their minds about next season, and it appears there is reason to be.
