Fulham are one of several Premier League clubs showing an interest in Federico Gatti. The Juventus centre back is said to be available for a fee of £20-£25 million this summer.
Fulham are one of several Premier League clubs who are linked with Juventus defender Federico Gatti, according to transfer guru Nicolo Schira.
The 26-year-old defender, who has represented Italy on eight occasions, joined Juventus in 2022 from Frosinone.
But after suffering a meniscus injury in December, he has struggled to get back into the side, and it appears that both sides are ready for Gatti to move on.
Part of the side that won the Coppa Italia in the 2023/24 season, Gatti has completed just one 90-minute match in Serie A in 2026, which came in a 2-0 defeat to Como.
But that does not take away his ability, nor his stature, having attracted interest from both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest last summer.
He is 6 ft 3 in tall and as such is physically impressive and strong in the air.
He did sign a new contract with Juventus until 2030 just last summer and so you would imagine he would come at a fair price.
But according to Schira, Juventus are after just £20-£25 million for Gatti this summer.
The Old Lady have had a disappointing season, failing to get past Galatasaray in the Champions League Last 16 and a whole 17 points away from runaway Serie A winners Inter.
They appear likely to get Champions League football next season, although there is a genuine four-way battle for the final two spots between Milan, Juve, Roma and Como.
With that, they have strong ambitions to delve deep in the transfer market this summer, with transfer targets including the likes of Sandro Tonali, Bernardo Silva and Leon Goretzka.
But with their finances in disarray still, they will need to sell to be able to buy, and Tonali is unlikely to come cheaply.
Schira said on X: “Excl. - There are several Premier League Clubs interested in Federico Gatti.
“Everton, Fulham, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have shown interest in the centre back, who could leave Juventus in the summer transfer window.
“Juventus want 20-25M to sell him.”
Fulham have had settled centre-backs for much of the last two seasons, with Calvin Bassey and Joachim Andersen taking the reins as the main men in the heart of defence.
Issa Diop and Jorge Cuenca are the other two who can play at centre back for Fulham and there is a growing consensus that as the club try to improve going forward and push on from a mid-table side into a team contending for the European places, that quartet simply may not be good enough.
That brings in Gatti, who has the quality and the experience to make a real difference to the Fulham defence - only time will tell if Craven Cottage is his chosen destination.
