Fulham have entered the race to sign Axel Disasi this summer. The Frenchman has been a revelation at West Ham since joining from Chelsea on loan and has attracted attention from Aston Villa and Fulham, as well as West Ham for next season.

Tom Masters explains the Axel Disasi transfer rumour.

Fulham are in the race to sign Axel Disasi this summer.

The French centre back struggled at Chelsea and was cast aside by Enzo Maresca, who placed him in his ‘bomb squad’ along with Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.

But since he has joined West Ham on loan, he has played a major role in them picking up points and rising up the table, usurping Tottenham last weekend after a 4-0 thumping of Wolves to move out of the relegation zone.

He will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan with West Ham in June but the Blues will certainly not be interested in keeping him and will want to recoup some of the £39 million they paid to sign him from Monaco in 2023.

West Ham will almost certainly be attempting to sign Disasi permanently this summer, assuming they maintain their Premier League status.

But other clubs are sniffing around Disasi, with Aston Villa, who also previously loaned the Frenchman from Chelsea and Fulham also in the race.

French transfer expert Sebastien Vidal said on X: “Aston Villa enter the race to re-sign Axel Disasi, but there is real competition with West Ham and Fulham.

“The Hammers hold the advantage for now, but all will depend on the price set by Chelsea this summer.”

Fulham are well-stocked in the centre back department, with Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey, Issa Diop and Jorge Cuenca.

But Disasi’s experience and ability to also slot in at right back if required could see Fulham jump in and try to secure the Frenchman’s services, depending on the price.

There will almost certainly be movement regarding a striker coming in this summer, with Raul Jimenez seemingly on his way out of the club as his contract runs out in June, while Harry Wilson is a constant rumour too with clubs looking to swoop in and sign him on a free.

That could see Fulham act in the market to sign the perfect Wilson replacement, with rumours previously circulating that Bayer Leverkusen’s Malik Tillman could be a target for the Cottagers this summer.

Fulham came very close to signing Ricardo Pepi on two occasions and it is unlikely that they will not head back into the market with the aim of attempting to sign Pepi for a third time this summer.

But now with Disasi also a potential target for Fulham, it seems it could be a very busy summer indeed at Craven Cottage.
