Wales Online are reporting that Fulham star Harry Wilson is ready to sign a deal with Aston Villa at the end of the season. Wilson’s contract runs out with the Cottagers in June.
The Harry Wilson saga has dominated the Fulham news for several weeks now and it looks set to continue to do so for the remainder of the season.
With now just a matter of weeks left on his contract in west London, Wilson has attracted attention from a number of Premier League clubs.
And it is easy to see why, with a season that has seen him score 10 goals and assist six more in the Premier League, Wilson has had his best year in the top flight.
Now clubs are ready to swoop in and sign a quality option without delving into their transfer budget.
Roundtable have previously mentioned interest from Manchester United and former club Liverpool, as well as Everton, Leeds and Wrexham, where Wilson was born.
But one of the main front-runners the whole summer has been Aston Villa, with the Villains able to offer all that Wilson really wants - first team football and playing in Europe.
And WalesOnline are reporting that Wilson has made his decision and it will not be popular amongst Cottagers fans.
They are reporting that Wilson has opted to head to Villa Park this summer, although he is expected not to officially announce this until the end of the season.
Wilson looks set to be handed a significant pay increase, doubling his current weekly wage to £100,000, while also getting the one thing he really wants - European football.
The article reads: “Wilson has not signed a new deal with Fulham and becomes a free agent in June.
“He has been considering his options due to his desire to test himself regularly in Europe, something Marco Silva's men have been unable to offer.
“Now, while it's understood Wilson will wait until the end of the season before announcing any decision, he is expected to move to Villa Park, especially if Villa secure a place at European football's top table.
“Villa are willing to double the 29-year-old's wages, with a deal worth £100,000-a-week.”
It was a saga that looked set to last the entire summer, such was the interest in Wilson, but it would appear that the Wales star and Aston Villa are going to agree to terms on a deal.
Wilson joined Fulham in 2022 from Liverpool on a four-year contract.
Since moving to Craven Cottage, he has scored 36 goals and assisted 45 more across 182 matches in all competitions.
