Leeds United and Burnley are finalising the details of a permanent transfer for Largie Ramazani, with the winger closing in on an exit from Elland Road.

The two clubs are currently negotiating the final details of the deal, which would bring Ramazani’s two-year spell with Leeds to an end.

The Belgian joined the Whites ahead of the 2024/25 Championship campaign and was part of Daniel Farke’s title-winning squad as Leeds secured promotion with a club-record 100 points.

However, opportunities were limited for Ramazani during that season. The 25-year-old made 29 Championship appearances, starting just seven times, as Leeds went on to lift the title.

Ramazani was subsequently deemed surplus to requirements and spent last season away from Elland Road on loan at Valencia, where he was given the opportunity to continue his career in La Liga.

It was made clear to the winger earlier this summer that he would not form part of Leeds’ plans moving forward, and a permanent departure now appears increasingly likely as Burnley work to complete a deal before the transfer window closes.

Ramazani closing in on Elland Road exit

A move to Turf Moor would offer Ramazani the chance to begin a new chapter after two seasons on Leeds’ books.

Despite showing flashes of his ability during his time with the Whites, the winger was unable to establish himself as a regular starter under Farke.

His departure would also form part of what has been a busy summer of change at Elland Road, with Leeds continuing to reshape their squad following their return to the Premier League.

The outcome of Ramazani’s proposed move could also come at an important time for Leeds' attacking department, with Wilfried Gnonto continuing to await a decision over his own future.

Gnonto was given permission to travel to Florence on Monday as Fiorentina continued to work on a proposed move for the Italian international.

However, Leeds’ decision to allow Gnonto to travel did not guarantee that a transfer would be completed.

The 22-year-old was cleared to travel to Italy to ensure he would be in a position to finalise the move should Leeds manage to recruit an attacking replacement of their own.

As of Monday evening, however, no final outcome had been reached, with Leeds still searching for a new attacker before being prepared to sanction Gnonto’s departure.

The situations involving Ramazani and Gnonto leave Leeds facing an important end to the transfer window, with business in both directions still potentially to be completed.

Ramazani appears increasingly close to completing his permanent move to Burnley, while Gnonto’s future could ultimately depend on whether Leeds can strengthen their own attacking options before the deadline.

With the window entering its final stages, United could yet face a hectic conclusion to deadline day as Daniel Farke and the club's recruitment team look to put the finishing touches on their squad.
