Leeds United were unable to end Bournemouth's impressive winning run as goals from Evanilson and Amine Adli condemned Daniel Farke's side to a 2-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium.

Leeds United suffered a frustrating afternoon on the south coast as Bournemouth extended their winning run with a 2-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium.

Daniel Farke's side made an encouraging start and thought they had taken the lead inside the opening 15 minutes through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, only for VAR to intervene and rule out the striker's effort for handball.

However, despite Leeds enjoying some promising spells, Evanilson put the hosts ahead shortly after the half-hour mark before Amine Adli added a second in stoppage time to secure all three points for Marco Rose's side.

Before kick-off, Farke and his opposite number Rose carried wreaths from the tunnel and laid them pitchside as part of Bournemouth's dedicated Remembrance fixture.

The two teams subsequently observed a moment of silence before The Last Post was played.

With the formalities complete, Leeds started brightly and looked to take the game to their hosts.

Their positive approach appeared to have paid dividends when a flowing attacking move saw Harry Wilson and Jayden Bogle combine down the right, with the full-back delivering into the penalty area for Calvert-Lewin to turn home.

However, celebrations were short-lived as VAR intervened, with the goal subsequently disallowed for handball by the Leeds striker.

Wilson almost made an immediate impact himself, choosing to take responsibility with an effort that narrowly missed the target as the Whites continued to threaten.

Despite Leeds looking the more dangerous side during the opening exchanges, Bournemouth found a breakthrough in the 31st minute.

Justin Kluivert reacted quickest to a loose ball before squaring across the penalty area for Evanilson, who made no mistake from close range to put the Cherries ahead.

Leeds looked for a response before the interval, with Wilson going close again from a free-kick during five minutes of added time, but his effort sailed just over the crossbar.

Neither manager made changes at the interval, with Leeds continuing to look for opportunities down the flanks.

Daniel James linked up with Wilson and Bogle as the visitors attempted to find a route back into the contest.

At the other end, Bournemouth's attacking trio of Rayan, Evanilson and Kluivert continued to pose a threat, although neither side managed to create a clear-cut opportunity during the opening stages of the second half.

With Leeds still trailing, Farke turned to his bench on 65 minutes, introducing Sean Longstaff, Anton Stach and Lukas Nmecha in a triple substitution.

Gudmundsson, Tanaka and James made way, with James Justin moving across to left-back as Leeds looked to add another presence in midfield.

Longstaff immediately brought energy to the visitors' midfield, making forward runs and getting himself into promising positions as Leeds attempted to increase the pressure on their opponents.

Stach also looked to make an impact, sending a free-kick over the crossbar before seeing a subsequent effort from the edge of the penalty area drift wide.

Despite enjoying spells of possession and searching for an equaliser, Leeds were unable to find the breakthrough they needed.

Instead, it was Bournemouth who delivered the decisive moment deep into stoppage time.

The hosts won possession and quickly broke forward, with Amine Adli finding space inside the penalty area before calmly slotting past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 in the 94th minute.

It was a disappointing conclusion for Farke's side, who had started the afternoon positively but ultimately left the south coast empty-handed.

Goals from Evanilson and Adli ensured Bournemouth continued their impressive run of form, while Leeds were left to reflect on a missed opportunity after their encouraging start and Calvert-Lewin's disallowed effort.
