Liverpool's Víctor Muñoz could make his World Cup debut in Spain's quarter-final against Belgium tonight. Here is how to see the action.
Los Angeles is playing host to the second quarter-final of the 2026 World Cup as Spain play Belgium. It could be the first time Liverpool fans get to see new signing Víctor Muñoz take to the field, albeit in a different shade of red to what they are used to.
The winger has not played a match since mid-May after suffering a seven-week injury lay-off but such is his quality that Spain manager Luis de la Fuente brought him to the finals regardless.
SPORT reporter Jordi Gil in Spain’s training camp said: “Nico Williams has trained well with the rest of the team, as have Yeremy Pino, Víctor Muñoz and Laporte. Everyone is at full intensity.”
When asked if the three would be available, he replied: “I think so."
How to watch Spain v Belgium
The quarter-final will be played on Friday, 10 July at Los Angeles SoFi Stadium at 8 p.m. UK time (3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT).
In the UK it will be shown on BBC One with coverage starting at 7.30 p.m.
In the US the match will be shown on Fox and Telemundo.
The BBC will have a livestream on their website and app while streaming in the US is through Fubo.
Team news for the match
Along with Muñoz, Nico WIlliams returns to the Spain team for this crucial game - has been injured since the 1-0 over Uruguay in the group stage, missing two games. Yeremy Pino's fitness is also unclear after injuring his shoulder in that same Uruguay win.
Amadou Onana tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the round-of-16 so will play no further part of this World Cup.
“This is devastating news, both for him personally and for the team," a statement from the Belgian team said.
Zeno Debast is also a doubt after missing every game of the tournament so far. His club, Sporting, have said he is not fit to play which Belgium disputes.
Who is the referee?
English referee Michael Oliver will take charge of the match - this will be his fourth of the tournament. He was also a referee in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
He will be assissted by Stuart Burt, James Mainwaring, and Ramon Abatti.
