France v Belgium Nations League Clash

France take on Belgium this evening in both teams' second match of the Nations League group stage. Both sides come into the game on the back of victories. France defeated Türkiye by one goal to nil in their last match, whilst Belgium won over Italy by two goals to nil.

Match Preview and Team News: Two Reds Involved?

Belgium's 2-0 victory over Italy was a triumphant return for the Red Devils after a disappointing quarter-final exit from the 2026 World Cup. Paris Saint-Germain's Mika Godts opened the scoring, whilst Dodi Lukebakio secured the victory in the second half.

France, meanwhile, beat Türkiye by one goal to nil in a hard-fought victory. Kylian Mbappe was the sole scorer; however, the French talisman suffered a knee injury and will most likely miss the rest of the international break.

Mbappe's absence may hand Liverpool's latest addition, Bradley Barcola, the opportunity to start against Belgium. Extra minutes might do the Reds' winger some good as he continues to build up towards full Premier League readiness.

Meanwhile, GFFN predicts that Jeremy Jacquet will be handed his first France start by new coach Zinedine Zidane against Belgium.

Zidane has already given Jacquet his first-ever France senior call-up this international break, which is unsurprising given the young defender's imperious form and is a huge milestone for the youngster.

So far this season, Jacquet has a duel success rate of 76.3 per cent, an aerial duel success rate of 76.9 per cent, and has made 57 passes into the final third with an overall passing accuracy of 90 per cent. Looking at those metrics, it is likely this international break is only the start of a long and successful international career for Jacquet.
