Stefan Bajcetic’s Liverpool future remains undecided despite growing interest from Spain, with new head coach Andoni Iraola reportedly keen to assess the midfielder before any final decision is made.

Stefan Bajcetic is poised to impress Andoni Iraola during Liverpool’s pre-season programme despite interest from several Spanish clubs.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto reveals that both Rayo Vallecano and Getafe are closely monitoring Bajcetic’s situation ahead of the new campaign.

However, Liverpool isn’t in a hurry to make a decision. Iraola wants to thoroughly assess the midfielder before deciding whether he’ll remain part of his long-term plans.

As the Spaniard enters his first season at Anfield, he’s expected to evaluate several squad members before the transfer window closes.

This includes Bajcetic, whose Liverpool career has been marred by injuries after a promising start under Jürgen Klopp.

Pre-season could be pivotal

Moretto reports that Iraola wants to keep Bajcetic for now to evaluate him during pre-season.  The coming weeks are crucial for the midfielder as he tries to convince Liverpool’s new head coach he deserves a place in the squad for the upcoming campaign.

Bajcetic has long been considered one of the club’s brightest young talents. His composure on the ball and tactical intelligence earned widespread praise during his breakthrough season.

However, injuries have hindered his progress, and increased competition in Liverpool’s midfield has made regular first-team appearances difficult, and this summer is arguably the most important of his Liverpool career.

Another intriguing aspect of Moretto’s update is Liverpool’s reported willingness to offer Bajcetic a new contract if he stays at Anfield.

Rather than seeing Bajcetic as a player they’re prepared to move on from, the Reds seem open to rewarding him with fresh terms if Iraola believes he can play a significant role moving forward.

If the midfielder is deemed surplus to requirements, a departure could quickly become a reality.

Moretto reveals Bajcetic’s preference would be to return to Spain if he leaves Liverpool with Rayo Vallecano and Getafe among the clubs showing interest.

Author’s View: A chance to shine

For now, Bajcetic’s focus is on pre-season and Iraola’s determination to assess the midfielder firsthand has given the Liverpool academy graduate a fresh opportunity to prove himself.

Whether this leads to a new contract or a return to La Liga remains uncertain but the next few weeks will significantly influence Bajcetic’s future.

After several injury-plagued seasons, the midfielder finally has another chance to demonstrate his worth at Liverpool.
