It's been a will-he-won't-he transfer saga for Curtis Jones this summer as a rumoured exit to Inter Milan continues to rumble behind the scenes. Now, there has been another update on the Scouser's future.
Will He, Won't He?
Curtis Jones' future has been a hot topic at Liverpool all summer. In fact, it has been since midway through last season, when it originally came out that he had a major falling out with former Liverpool boss Arne Slot.
Since then, it has been Inter Milan who have shown the most concrete interest in signing Liverpool's only current Scouse player. And now, there has been another update regarding their long-term interest.

Following an apparent disagreement with Arne Slot around the midway point of Liverpool's torrid season last time around, the possibility of Curtis Jones ending his lifelong journey at Liverpool first appeared.
During the January transfer window, there were heavy links to both Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan. Since then, it is Inter's interest that has developed further - buoyed by Jones' desire to become a nailed-on first team player.
In June, Inter saw their initial approach rebuffed by Liverpool and seemingly gave up on the possibility of signing Jones. However, they have now returned.
Inter Milan Renew Their Interest
James Horncastle, for The Athletic, has revealed that Inter Milan have renewed their interest in signing Curtis Jones.
According to Horncastle, Inter have approached the Reds via intermediaries and indicated a willingness to pay up to 35 million euros (about 30 million pounds) for the transfer. In return, the Reds have expressed a demand upwards of 40 million euros for any deal to take place.
Inter Milan's return to the table is no surprise given the rumours surrounding Davide Frattesi's departure from the Scudetto champions.

It seems clear that Curtis Jones' exit from Liverpool is becoming increasingly likely. Unfortunately, the story of the previous season seems to have taken its toll on Jones, and now he is ready for a new challenge away from his boyhood club.
Underlined by a desire to be a first-choice, nailed-on, starter, something that has ultimately looked unlikely during his entire Liverpool career, Jones nears the exit door.
This will have its own effect on Liverpool. Jones is a versatile player who has always given everything and more for the club, and whose profile matches up particularly well to the midfielders Andoni Iraola has worked with previously.
It would be a great shame to see Liverpool's only current "Scouser in the team" leave the club, but it looks more likely than ever at the moment.
Liverpool will have to replace Jones in the market, or become light in the midfield department. This task will only be made more difficult by Jones' status as a homegrown club-trained player. Luckily for the Reds, Trey Nyoni looks ready to step up into the first team permanently this season and alleviate worries on the bookkeeping side of things. It's yet to be seen, however, if Nyoni is the player to replace Jones' minutes in their entirety.
