Inter Milan are set to return with another bid for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones despite their initial €25 million offer previously being rejected.

Liverpool’s Curtis Jones has been involved in some big transfer talks over the past year. Further rumours have surfaced in the past weeks as his future remains uncertain.
In June, Inter Milan submitted a €25 million bid for Curtis Jones, which they saw rejected. Reports from Alex Crook suggest they are looking to bid again.
Inter Preparing A New Approach
Ben Jacobs has reported that Inter Milan are considering tabling another bid for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. Their first proposal was rejected immediately.
Paul Joyce suggested that Liverpool has become irritated over Inter Milan offering just £21.6 million. In a market where Elliot Anderson has just transferred to Manchester City for around £116 million, it is understandable why the club felt that way.
Inter Milan have not yet submitted their second proposal for Curtis Jones; however, Alex Crook of TalkSport reports that the Italian side are ‘set’ to do so. Clearly, their interest remains despite their first bid being rejected a couple of weeks ago.
Liverpool’s Stance On Curtis Jones
At this moment, Liverpool feels absolutely no pressure to sell the midfielder. He has played a large role rotating as part of Liverpool’s key midfielders in the past few seasons.
The club is prepared to keep hold of Jones if their valuation is not met. Reportedly, their valuation is around €40 million.
A huge benefit of keeping Jones is the homegrown status, which provides an extra player for their squad. Ability-wise, on the eye, he enables the Reds to take control of matches by slowing the game down.
Why Curtis Jones Could Depart
From the last two seasons under Arne Slot, Curtis Jones played 67 matches in the Premier League out of a possible 76. The desire for a move, however, stems from how many starts the player has.
The player started 19 times during the club’s most recent title-winning season, and 18 times throughout the 25/26 campaign. He is simply out of favour when it comes to deciding the starting 11, with Gravenberch, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai all being preferred.

Curtis Jones has some good qualities, but Inter will have to seriously step up their £21.6 million bid to secure the player’s signature. Having one year left on a deal doesn’t decrease the value to that low.
Alexander-Arnold wanted to take part in Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign after completing the season with Liverpool. Yet the club still attained nearly half of Inter Milan’s initial offer for Curtis Jones in transfer fees, at £10 million.
Jones is a player who has been a big topic for Liverpool fans, almost like marmite. Some understand his role and qualities, whereas he just doesn’t tick the boxes for others.
It is always a shame to see an academy player leave the senior squad, and if Curtis Jones were to leave, then it should be no different. He clearly has the talent to be a part of the Liverpool squad, but whether he can take the club to another level is something that’s still questioned.
If Liverpool manages to find an agreement with Inter Milan, then a sale would not be the worst thing in the world. It works out well for both parties, as Liverpool could look to reinvest any fee into a potential midfield signing for themselves.
