Mohamed Salah reportedly looks set to join a new club following his departure from Merseyside at the end of last season. The Egyptian international called time on his nine-year stint at Anfield following a disappointing campaign for him and the club's usually high standards over the last few years.

The 34-year-old then went off to play for his country at the World Cup, where he would come so close to helping Egypt knock out Messi and Argentina in the Round of 16, but ultimately fell short.

Since he was eliminated from the tournament, Salah has been on holiday and evaluating his next step in his glittering career, and he has been of interest to many clubs from across the world of football.

Who Has Made Moves To Sign Salah This Summer?

When Mohamed Salah announced he would leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, many suspected that he would move to Saudi Arabia. This is largely due to Liverpool rejecting a £150 million bid from Al Ittihad on Deadline Day in the 2023 Summer Window.

So now that Salah was available on a free transfer, it seemed a very realistic move for the Egyptian to make.

And this has been something that the Saudi club have attempted to make happen, with even as recently as today, Al-Ittihad have tried to push to sign the former LFC superstar, but they are not the ones currently leading the race for his signature.

Fabrizio Romano had also reported that Salah had interest from MLS clubs, but if recent reports are to be believed, a move to the US seems off the cards for now.

And that is because for weeks, it has seemed that a move to Turkey was highly probable for Mohamed Salah, with Turkish Giants Besiktas leading the race to sign him, but it would appear that this proposed move has stalled, and a fellow Turkish side has jumped in and taken huge strides towards signing Salah in the last few weeks.

Mohamed Salah Reportedly Set For Trabzonspor Move?

That side is Trabzonspor, a club that once had Former Red Daniel Sturridge at their club, are the side who appear to be closing in on a sensational deal to sign Salah in what would undoubtedly be the biggest transfer in Turkish league history.

Furthermore, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has gone one step further and stated that Trabzonspor have agreed a two-year deal with Mohamed Salah, he will be in Istanbul tomorrow, and that Salah will receive a 20% share of all "Salah" sold products by Trabzonspor.

This represents a huge deal for Trabzonspor, a club that hasn't won the league since the 2020/21 season. They will be hoping that with the addition of Salah, they will be able to challenge for the title in the 2026/27 season.

And as for Salah, it allows him to secure, likely, a massive payday, and he can still stay in a competitive European league, which is one of the reasons that he wasn't keen on the moves to Saudi Arabia and the MLS.

Additionally, if he was able to get double-figure goals and assists in the Premier League last season, the numbers he could put up in the Turkish top division could be record-breaking.
