According to Spanish journalist Javier Félix Díaz, Victor Muñoz remains on Real Madrid's radar as a potential return option, raising fresh questions about the player's long-term future and whether Liverpool could face interest from one of Europe's biggest clubs.

The report suggests that Madrid have not forgotten about the talented Spaniard, despite his departure from the club's youth system.

Real Madrid Academy

Muñoz developed his game within Real Madrid's academy, La Fábrica, where he established himself as an exciting attacking prospect before seeking opportunities elsewhere.

Known for his pace, direct running, and willingness to take defenders on, the winger possesses the sort of attacking qualities that have made him an intriguing prospect throughout his development.

Madrid Background Could Be Decisive

Liverpool signed Muñoz from Osasuna in June 2026 after triggering his €40 million (£34.5 million) release clause. And now, according to José Félix Díaz, the Spanish giants are looking to strengthen their squad after being convinced by José Mourinho's long-term football and tactics.

Jacobo Ramón and Nico Paz are two Como players that Los Blancos have considered bringing back to Spain, as they managed to include buyback clauses on both of them. But that is not all, as there are two other products of La Fábrica that they could be on the lookout. One being Napoli's Rafa Marín, and the other Liverpool's forward Víctor Muñoz.

Liverpool Face a Huge Challenge

For Liverpool, losing Muñoz so soon after his arrival would undoubtedly be frustrating. The 23-year-old became Andoni Iraola's first signing, arriving after an impressive campaign at Osasuna that produced seven goals and five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

His performances also earned him international recognition, with Muñoz scoring on his senior Spain debut against Serbia before becoming part of their World Cup-winning squad.

Muñoz has already opened his Liverpool goalscoring account, finding the net against Nottingham Forest, demonstrating glimpses of the attacking threat that convinced them to invest heavily in his potential.

While Madrid's renewed interest could present an unwelcome distraction, there is currently no confirmation of a formal approach or an imminent transfer. For now, Victor Muñoz remains a Liverpool player, but Madrid's continued admiration suggests his future could become an intriguing transfer storyline.
