Representing Colombia’s U17 side, Martinez played a key role in their successes in the tournament, with it being said that he contributed on several occasions as Colombia impressed against some of the best and strongest competitors from across the area. Those performances quickly alerted Europe’s best clubs, with Liverpool acting quickest and most decisive.
