The Premier League side have already spent more than £230 million on incomings with the Liverpool winger a new target, according to talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs.
Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo has emerged as a target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Ben Jacobs.
"There's been links in the last few days with Cody Gakpo," talkSPORT's Jacobs said.
"He is a name on Tottenham's list. Let's see how that develops.
"The market is inflated and Liverpool have a very high asking price for Cody Gakpo.
"The player also, despite reports in the Netherlands, hasn't at the time of recording told Liverpool that he wants to leave. But Spurs might be one to watch."
Gakpo made 52 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season, scoring nine goals and contributing seven assists. He signed a contract extension last summer.
The Dutchman joined Liverpool in January 2023 after his performances in the 2022 World Cup. So far he has scored 32 Premier League goals in 127 matches, winning the the Premier League and League Cup with the Reds.
However, Gakpo came under criticism from some Liverpool fans for his performances last season as the team toiled.
Tottenham look to be on a spending spree this summer with the confirmation of Sandro Tonali arriving on Monday morning in a deal worth up to £100 million.
Cody Gakpo's World Cup
On the pitch, the Liverpool forward was the Netherlands' standout performer. He overcame a slow start to deliver a crucial brace in the group stage against Sweden, a performance that featured the tournament's 100th goal.
This pushed him past the legendary Johan Cruyff on the Dutch all-time scoring list . With six World Cup goals to his name, he moved to second place in the Oranje's record books.
But it wasn't enough as the Oranje were suffered a devastating penalty shootout defeat. In total, Gakpo played four matches and scored three goals.
