Liverpool could be preparing to raid Serie A for one of Italy’s most exciting young midfielders, but Fiorentina have made one thing perfectly clear: Cher Ndour will not be leaving Florence on the cheap.
Should Liverpool be in the transfer race to sign Cher Ndour?

0%Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Fiorentina midfielder Cher Ndour, with the 22-year-old attracting growing interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.
Liverpool Keeping Tabs
According to Italian publication La Repubblica, the Reds are monitoring Ndour's development, although Fiorentina would only consider parting ways with the midfielder for an irresistible offer exceeding €30–35 million (£26–30 million). Juventus are also believed to be interested.
For Liverpool, the attraction is understandable. At 6ft 3in, Ndour possesses the physical presence, technical ability and versatility that could make him an intriguing addition to Andoni Iraola's midfield.
But there is considerably more to his game than simply being a towering presence in the middle of the park.

Born in Brescia in July 2004, Ndour developed through Atalanta's academy before making the ambitious decision to join Benfica in 2020. His performances in Portugal eventually earned him a move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, although opportunities in the French capital proved limited.
Loan spells with Braga and Besiktas followed before Fiorentina secured his signature in February 2025, giving the Italian youngster the platform to establish himself in Serie A.
During the 2025/26 campaign, Ndour registered three goals in 33 Serie A appearances, alongside four goals in the UEFA Conference League.
His development has continued this season, with five league appearances, one assist and 398 minutes played across Fiorentina's opening five Serie A fixtures.
However, it was his extraordinary performance for Italy's Under-21 side against Poland that truly captured attention.
Wearing the captain's armband, Ndour scored twice in a remarkable 6-2 victory, including an outrageous effort from approximately 70 metres that helped secure qualification for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship.

For Liverpool, Ndour could offer something different. His ability to cover ground, carry possession and compete physically would make him an interesting prospect for Iraola's demanding approach. His experience across several European leagues also suggests a maturity beyond his 22 years.
Securing Ndour's Signature Complications
Yet securing his signature would be far from straightforward. Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici reportedly considered Ndour virtually untouchable during the summer transfer window, with the Italian club determined to retain one of their brightest prospects.
A significant sell-on clause owed to PSG further complicates negotiations, potentially strengthening Fiorentina's determination to command a substantial fee.
There is currently no confirmation of an official Liverpool bid or negotiations between the clubs.
Nevertheless, with Juventus also circling and Ndour's reputation continuing to grow, Liverpool may find that waiting too long could make an already expensive deal even more difficult.
At €35 million, Ndour would represent an investment in potential rather than a finished product. Liverpool will be hoping they have spotted another one before the competition gets serious.
