Liverpool Offered Opportunity to Sign €40M Rated PSG Defender

Liverpool has reportedly been given an unexpected opportunity to sign Ukrainian centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi. The defender from Paris Saint-Germain is open to leaving the French champions to find consistent first-team football.

Dave OCKOP reports that Liverpool has been informed of Zabarnyi’s availability for this summer. The 23-year-old has expressed frustration over his lack of playing time in Paris.

With the announcement of Andoni Iraola as the next Liverpool manager approaching, Zabarnyi’s experience with Premier League football and his understanding of a high-intensity system could make a move to Liverpool appealing.

Zabarnyi spent two seasons working under Iraola at AFC Bournemouth, where he developed into one of the league’s most reliable centre-backs. He played an aggressive, front-foot style, suggesting he could adapt easily to life at Anfield if the Reds choose to pursue a deal.

I think Zabarnyi would be a good signing for Liverpool. He's a young centre-back, already Premier League proven, and he also already has a good relationship with Iraola, making him a great fit for the club.
