Manchester United Left Stunned as Fernandes and Dorgu Pick Up Injuries

Manchester United have been handed another injury setback, with captain Bruno Fernandes and Patrick Dorgu both picking up problems during international duty.

Fernandes suffered an issue while playing for Portugal against Wales and has subsequently been left out of Portugal’s squad to face Norway. Portugal boss Jorge Jesus described the problem as “complicated” and revealed that Fernandes had been playing through pain.

Dorgu then became the latest concern after being forced off after around 30 minutes of Denmark’s clash with Wales. The severity of his injury is not yet known.

The timing will raise further questions over United’s decision not to bring in another left-back before the transfer window closed. Reports said United opted against a signing after failing to identify an option they considered suitable.

However, Dorgu is not United’s only left-back: Luke Shaw remains an option, and he started against Fulham before Dorgu replaced him late in that match.

With United already dealing with several injury concerns, the club will now wait for further medical assessments before knowing how serious the latest setbacks are.
