The £70 million forward is reportedly seeking a transfer from his current club, with Manchester United seen as the leading candidate to sign him.
Manchester United spent over £200 million in the summer transfer window, signing Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo to strengthen their attack.
The trio has combined for nine goals. Mbuemo leads them with six in 15 matches. Sesko, who cost over £70 million, has managed just two for the Reds as 2025 draws to a close.
Manchester United Sets Their Sights on Karim Adeyemi
Despite a busy summer, Ruben Amorin and the United management may need to strengthen the squad during the upcoming winter transfer window. Reports indicate they are targeting a 23-year-old forward who is potentially departing Borussia Dortmund, with Manchester United considered his possible next club. This suggests Manchester United sees this player as a key reinforcement to the side.
According to BILD, Karim Adeyemi could leave Germany, as his wife, rapper Loredana, prefers he settle in a major European city.
Manchester United held talks with Adeyemi's agent, Jorge Mendes, in November of this year. He has emerged as one of the front-runners alongside Inter Milan. The player's future at Dortmund remains uncertain, with no agreement yet reached on his current contract, which expires in 2027.
The German international confirmed that Karim agreed to his wife's wish to move. Dortmund expects Adeyemi's new contract to include a release clause of at least £70 million.
Operating from the wings, Adeyemi has scored 32 goals in 127 matches for Dortmund and registered 22 assists.
Adeyemi's impact at Dortmund and in the Champions League
Dortmund is currently in tenth place in the Champions League group stage, with 11 points from six games, and hopes to qualify directly for the knockout stages.
Their young winger played an important role in this season's UCL campaign, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists. This also gives Dortmund a reason to set a high release clause for their youngster when he decides to leave the club.
If Manchester United signs Karim Adeyemi in 2026, they would add a player capable of making an immediate impact, as he is regarded as a potential superstar for the club.
