Manchester United secured third-place in the Premier League with a thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in their final home game of the season on Sunday afternoon.

How will Casemiro be remembered at Manchester United?

Manchester United ended their home campaign with an entertaining 3-2 win, with the closing stages turning into an end-to-end contest as both sides pushed for more goals.

The match also served as Casemiro’s Old Trafford farewell, marked by a banner in the Stretford End and chants throughout the game.

Luke Shaw gave United an early lead after seven minutes, though the hosts failed to extend their advantage before half-time despite chances for Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes.

Nottingham Forest equalised after the break through Morato, who headed home Elliot Anderson’s excellent delivery following a short corner routine.

United responded quickly when Matheus Cunha restored the lead after Mbeumo controlled a cross with the underside of his arm before the ball fell kindly for the Brazilian to score. After a long VAR review, the goal stood as the handball was deemed accidental.

Mbeumo then made it 3-1 with a deserved goal, before Morgan Gibbs-White pulled one back late on ahead of the full-time whistle.
