Key players sidelined? Discover who's out and who's doubtful as Newcastle and Manchester United clash. Crucial lineup changes ahead!

Newcastle will host Manchester United in an exciting match corresponding to Matchweek 29 of the Premier League in the 2025/26 season. It will be a key game for the aspirations of both teams, with the Red Devils in the midst of a significant unbeaten run under Michael Carrick's command and the Magpies on a more inconsistent path.

Eddie Howe's pupils have two losses and three wins in their last five matches. In the league, the Magpies recently fell to Everton (2-3) and against Manchester City (2-1). However, in the Champions League, they eliminated Qarabag FK in the playoffs with a resounding 1-6 away victory in the first leg and a tight 3-2 home win in the second leg. They also advanced in the FA Cup after beating Aston Villa (1-3).

For their part, Manchester United now have all their energy focused on the Premier League, in which they have not lost since Rúben Amorim's departure. After the draw against West Ham in Matchweek 26, the Red Devils beat Everton (0-1) as visitors and Crystal Palace (2-1) as hosts. With that, they are now seven games without defeat, with six wins and a draw against the Hammers.

In the standings, Newcastle occupies 13th place with 36 points, while Manchester United sits third with 51 points, making this meeting a crucial opportunity for both teams. For Michael Carrick's side, this match represents the chance to solidify their position in the Champions League qualification zone, ahead of rivals such as Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

In the last duel between both teams, played on December 26, 2025, Manchester United won 1-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League, with a solitary goal from Patrick Dorgu. This result broke a streak of two consecutive victories by the Magpies over the Red Devils, who will now seek to secure a win at St. James' Park, where they have not won since 2020, when they won 1-4 with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.

Injuries and doubts for the match:

Luke Shaw (doubt), Harry Maguire (doubt), Lisandro Martinez (doubt), Mason Mount (doubt), Patrick Dorgu (thigh), Matthijs de Ligt (back).
