It is reported that a prospective price for Arsenal to sell the England international would land at around £45 million, which United may see as good value in a market that has seen several stars move for figures over £100 million.
Lewis-Skelly could be a smart buy from United
Despite the limited appearances at points, there is little doubt that the Arsenal academy graduate is one of the few teenagers in the Premier League who already has vast experience across Europe's elite competitions.
With the club in the Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup for the coming summer, rotation and availability have become paramount, and the 19=year=0ld being a player who can play both as a left-back and in midfield may be a brilliant asset.
Untied are in dire need of options across both positions, and having Lewis-Skelly, a player who can slip into either role smoothly, as an option for Carrick could be a smart piece of business for the Reds.
With only a few weeks remaining in the window and negotiations with Arsenal no doubt tough, it is a hard deal to get over the line. But, if United can pull it off, it would be a very smart piece of business.
