Sully Talkz Exclusive: Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw could be set to miss Leeds United vs Manchester United through injury.

Manchester United are looking to bounce back after another disappointing result against Atletico Madrid in midweek.

The 2-0 scoreline marked another poor performance, though much of it was forgotten after Lisandro Martínez's post-match interview, in which he openly criticised Jason Wilcox.

Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw both missed the Champions League tie due to injury, with Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba starting in midfield and Ayden Heaven at left-back.

All three were among Manchester United's better players on Tuesday evening, despite conceding inside the first minute.

Exclusive: Mainoo and Shaw doubts vs Leeds

Roundtable understands that Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw are doubts for the trip to Leeds United and are unlikely to feature on Sunday afternoon.

They have not travelled with the squad to Elland Road, despite Michael Carrick issuing a positive update during his press conference.

Roundtable have also reported that it seems Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui are still out with injury, while Carrick confirmed that Benjamin Šeško is still some way from returning to the squad.

It remains to be seen if any of the injured players travel to Elland Road away from the rest of the first-team squad.

Carrick could be forced to issue a very similar back four and midfield which tasted defeat in Madrid on Tuesday evening.

Opinion: Carrick should stick with same XI

While his side took a 2-0 loss in the second Champions League tie of the season, it was the best Manchester United have played all season.

The performance was far from perfect, but Santos and Baleba offered United a new dynamic in central midfield, which saw Atletico have less success through the middle than most other sides this season.

Heaven was playing at left-back for the first time in his senior career, but he too looked to offer United newfound stability at left-back. He was able to bring the ball out from the back or recycle possession, while being solid without the ball. Heaven was unlucky not to block the opener.

Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martínez were decent in central defence, though if a change is to be made, it is likely to be Harry Maguire for the young Frenchman.

Yoro could return to full-back if Carrick wants to keep him in the team, but Leeds United's fluid frontline could be an issue for an unnatural right-back.

Perhaps Carrick will lean on experience for the trip to Elland Road, given the atmosphere, though there is certainly an argument for sticking with the same starting lineup.

However, the injuries to Shaw and Šeško make Martínez's comments on Tuesday evening even more interesting.
